Nothing specific about tyhe hotel. Feeling cheated.
We are a 15-member family group and had booked 6 double rooms (2 guests each) and 1 family room (3 guests) through Booking.com. We received a confirmed reservation, and the confirmation message clearly stated that payment could be made at the hotel.
We reached the hotel around 8:00 PM and presented the booking confirmation at the front desk. To our shock, the staff flatly refused to allot the rooms, stating that the booking had been cancelled. We had not received any prior cancellation intimation from either the hotel or Booking.com.
After considerable argument and inconvenience, the front desk staff agreed to provide rooms — but only at their own revised rate, which felt unfair and unacceptable. As a large family group arriving at night, this situation caused us significant stress and embarrassment.
We feel completely cheated by both Booking.com and the hotel management for:
Confirming rooms and then denying check-in without prior notice
Forcing us to accept rooms at a different rate
Creating avoidable hardship for a large family group
Not offering complimentary breakfast despite the room tariff
The hotel being far from downtown and not worth the rent charged
Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the way guests are treated. This experience has seriously affected our trust in the booking platform as well as the hotel.
We request a proper explanation and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused.
