Hotel Petras Beach

I spent one night at Hotel Petras Beach and really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in a great location by the sea, the room was comfortable, and everything was very clean. A peaceful place to relax!

I stayed one night at Hotel Petras Beach and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the sea view was a nice bonus. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a quiet stay near Sitia.

L'hôtel est situé à côté de Sitía mais au calme, à côté de la route principale, et surtout en face d'une superbe plage.
Les propriétaires sont souriants, patients, disponibles. Le petit déjeuner est complet, la chambre spacieuse.
C'était vraiment un séjour agréable et reposant !

L emplacement, à l écart donc plus au calme ce que nous recherchions . Parking.

Very clean, comfortable, very welcoming and lovely owners and staff. The location is right across from the water front. Couldn't all for more.

Son exposition

L'établissement est un peu ancien mais nous avons eu un accueil sympathique. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et la terrasse côté jardin agréable. La salle de bain a été rénovée avec goût.

The sea view

reception of key, welcome drinks, clean room with sea view. Breakfast was oke (but not to our taste.) Beach in front of hotel, however due to wind and high waves, difficult to swim..

Hotel Petras Beach is a small and comfortable hotel, about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Sitia, along the main coastal road (which is lit at night and part of which has a pavement).

The hotel is across the road from Petras Beach. The beach itself is sandy and has a lovely view, but the water covers a large, quite flat, rocky area, which makes swimming more difficult. The walk into town and to the town beach is flat, with lots of seafront tavernas and shops in the town behind. This offers a bit of exercise, if you are on foot, but there doesn't appear to be any bus service, despite a few bus stops along the road.

If you have a car or want to hire one, the main roads are in good condition and traffic is quite light. There are plenty of places to explore with some wonderful villages, towns, beaches and more, within less than an hour's drive. Note, some of the roads inland and down to a few beaches are unmade and better suited to 4x4s.

The hotel is family owned and it feels very much like you are being welcomed to that family. Plates of grapes from the garden and a supply of homemade Raki were regularly offered and gratefully received - as was advice about the area and making the most of your time around Sitia. They all speak English well, but are also patient with novice Greek speakers - ευχαριστούμε!

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, with air-con, a fridge, kettle, regularly changed bedding and towels - and more available on request - like plates, cups and cutlery. All the rooms are on the ground floor and have doors out to tables and chairs.

On our second day, the hinge on our bathroom door broke and when we reported it, we feared that it may take a while to get sorted, but it was fixed within a few hours.

Hotel Petras Beach offers very good value and a great location near Sitia, close enough to the town to access on foot and with parking for cars if you plan to explore the area.

Hôtel facile à trouver. Excentré de la ville mais assez au calme malgré que les chambres vue « mer » soit coté « route ». Literie confortable. Chambre propre dans l’ensemble. Petit parking pour garer quelques voitures.
Personnel agréable.

Die Nähe zum Strand und die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Wie haben die Unterkunft nur für eine Nacht genutzt, da wir eine Road trip gemacht haben. Für eine Nacht war die Unterkunft sehr gut.
