I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding my recent experience with a booking made through your platform at Super Y Hotel, Okkilipalayam, Coimbatore for August 2–4 2025.
I arrived at the property with my mother on August 2nd after a long and exhausting journey, only to discover that the hotel was nothing like the images shown on your app. There was no visible signage, and showed as “Dhanam Builders,” not a hotel. The building staff informed us that all rooms were already taken by those who came earlier and paid directly, despite my confirmed booking. I was never informed via message, email, or app notification that I had to prepay to secure the booking.
Worse, they misled us by saying other rooms were available nearby, which was not true. This was the night before my NEET PG exam, and every hotel nearby was already full. We were left stranded in an unknown place, in the dark, with no immediate place to go.
I want this issue to be acknowledged and addressed, because this experience caused severe mental distress, especially before such an important exam. I trusted your platform, but this left me feeling unsafe and unsupported.
I request that Booking.com take action by:
Investigating this listing and its false representation
Taking appropriate steps against this hotel to prevent this from happening to others
Offering a formal apology or acknowledgment for the mental trauma and risk caused
After this experience, I received an automated email asking me to “rate my stay,” which felt like a further insult. Please take this complaint seriously.
