Wir waren anlässlich unserer Ferien auf Sizilien unter anderem auch für fünf Nächte in der Hotel Villa Golfetto. Und diese Wahl war in vielerlei Hinsicht ein Volltreffer !
1. handelt es sich nicht um ein Hotel im konventionellen Sinn, sondern man lebt mit der Eigentümerin im gleichen Haus. Vorausgesetzt, man ist der italienischen Sprache mächtig, erhält man dadurch konkrete Einblick in die Lebensart auf Sizilien. Insbesondere beim durch die Eigentümerin zubereiteten Frühstück erfährt man viel über Sizilien. Dabei ist zu bemerken, dass sie sich sonst sehr diskret im Hintergrund hält.
2. ist die Villa Golfetto ein mit antiken Möbeln bestücktes Juwel.
3. liegt das Haus in einer Naturschutzzone direkt am Golf von Syrakus im Ionischen Meer. Das Gebiet, welches sich über 14 Kilometer Küste erstreckt, ist für seine steilen Felsküsten, das kristallklare Wasser und die reiche Unterwasserwelt berühmt. Man hat also direkten und privaten Zugang zum Meer. Der Einstieg führt allerdings über steiniges Gelände, weshalb Wasserschuhe empfehlenswert sind.
Am Abend konnten wir aufgrund der westwärts gerichteten Lage der Terrasse Atem beraubende Sonnenuntergänge erleben.
4. ist der Standort in einem sehr ruhigen, ländlichen Gebiet ideal als Ausgangsort für Ausflüge in die antiken Städte Ragusa (Ibla, sehr empfehlenswert), Noto, Modica, Caltagirone sowie in das nahe gelegene Siracusa-Ortigia (wunderbar) und viele weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten Siziliens.
Tipp: Insektenmittel mitnehmen. In der Gegend wimmelt es von Mücken.
Wir haben uns in der Villa Golfetto ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt und können diese Location sehr empfehlen !
