The Casa Galu is a small establishment fully surrounded by coastal rain forest, built on the slope between the tall trees and palms. If you are lucky you will spot Monkeys and Iguanas on the trees. Few minutes walk from the dock of Capurganà. The rooms are build in a simple way but with good materials and taste, permeable for ventilation. We were expecting more mosquitoes but actually there were almost none. We have been unfortunate with the weather and it has been raining for most of our stay, it is in fact ´the rain forest’ so be prepared for morning and evening showers and sometimes during the day. The hotel was solid during bad weather, and we enjoyed its coziness and the common area.
Dinners were delicious, there are two great chefs which prepared diversified menus every night, Laura and Daniel. Breakfast is simple, eggs and toast or arepa with some variations of fruits and jams.
Monica and Mariano, took good care of us and helped us with the logistics of transport and activities. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to immerge yourself in the nature of the coastal landscape, few comforts, clean room with cold shower and amazing views on the surroundings.
It’s a hidden gem in Capurganá. We went during the festivities and while the town was noisy and festiv, Casa Galú was quiet.
The staff is friendly,y and helpful, Monica guide us and was very kind. The evening chefs, Laura and Daniel prepared delicious food.
Struttura pulita e in una posizione molto suggestiva. Letto comodo e design curato, in armonia con il luogo. Cena e colazione molto buone. Staff molto gentile e disponibile ad aiutare nell’organizzazione di tour ed escursioni.
Il rumore del mare può risultare molto intenso quanto è mosso, consiglio i tappi. Non c’è acqua calda nella doccia, ma sembra essere una caratteristica comune a Capurganá

The coffee it’s just terrible :(.
They should invest in a proper coffee machine, because the food is amazing but being in Colombia it’s just unfair to provide Nescafé diluted in water for breakfast.
The most incredible place to stay. It’s stunning, comfortable and you feel very much in nature. Monica, Mariano & Alba were so friendly and helpful with everything. Laura, the chef, cooks the most amazing dinners with produce from her farm, it was wonderful.

Open, airy rooms in the jungle just a few meters from the ocean and a 5 minute walk from town. No air conditioning, just a ceiling fan. Perfectly quiet except for the beautiful white noises from the jungle and the ocean. It’s exactly what we wanted.
They are very environmentally conscious which is great, but maybe we would have preferred fresh towels every day since at times everything stays damp.
The place is fantastic. Very comfortable room with protection of the different insects, with a comfortable bad and a fantastic sea view. amazing sound of the sea in the night. Charlie and Thomas are very friendly and ready to help with any questions or need you have. Food is amazing.
