Tongna Cottage Natural Resort

Zur Silvesterzeit mussten wir bis zu 3 Stunden auf ein Grab/Bolt warten (Taxi). Man ist wirklich sehr abgelegen und würde es nur empfehlen mit Mietwagen/Essen bestellen, wenn man mal Abwechslung möchte. Und da man eher abseits lebt, lebt man wirklich mit Natur und Tierwelt. Frühstück hat nur drei Optionen zum vorbestellen.

Het ligt afgelegen maar daardoor wel lekker rustig. Het ontbijt vonden wij matig; weinig keuze en smaak.

Nothing not to like, beautiful , peaceful and relaxing.

During our stay, we encountered the following unacceptable issues:
1. Severe Hygiene Problem at Breakfast:
• Our breakfast plate was filled with ants. When I reported this, staff simply brushed some ants off the plate and returned the same food, instead of preparing a fresh meal.
• Additionally, breakfast must be reserved one day in advance, which was never communicated at booking and caused further inconvenience.
2. Inadequate Facilities for Families with Children:
• We are two adults and two young children (ages 2 and 4), yet the hotel refused to provide us with sufficient towels: only 4 towels per day, with no towels for pool use.
• We were denied basic utensils (forks and knives) in our room, making it difficult to manage meals for the children.
• The breakfast menu was completely unsuitable for small children, with no child-friendly options.
3. Room Security Failure:
• The door lock in our room did not work, leaving us unable to secure the room. Although staff promised to fix it, no repair was ever made, compromising our sense of safety.
4. Extremely Loud Music Starting at 8:00 AM:
• Each morning at exactly 8:00 AM, very loud music would start playing on repeat, with the same song looping non-stop until 8:00 PM. This made it impossible to rest or relax – especially for our distressed children. We were forced to leave after only 2 nights instead of our planned 5-night stay.
5. No Accountability from Hotel Staff.

The location was too far from the main city. In traffic it could take upto an hour to reach Chaing Mai. Also don't waste you time and money on the theme park attached my 3 children found it very boring ! It was run down and like a ghost town ! You had to pre order your breakfast and for a time. When your away on holiday it is nice to have the flexibility not to pre plan your times for breakfast. Some mornings we had to wake the kids to make it.

It would’ve been great if there was an option to book a massage at the property but that’s a first world problem if ever there was one lol. The property is 25mins away from the hustle and bustle of Chang mai centre so you’re going to need to get around. We found the grab app to be amazing and managed to get a taxi all but one evening from the property (it was fairly late on a Monday eve when we tired to book so understandable). We ended up eating at the restaurant attached to the property and had a great evening and some amazing food! The green curry was really good and a huge portion :)

Not much privacy in your private pool when it's right in the front. Also, it was totally non-smoking, which I get, but I didn't realize until I got there.

The location is literally in the middle of nowhere…nothing is walkable. Bring cash. The faculty is local cash only but they don’t have an ATM. The rooms are tiny tiny tiny, but clean. The same children’s song plays 24/7 on loop. It is very Asian cartoon theme park. But you’re in Asia at a theme park so there you go.
