A lovely hotel with spaceous and clean rooms and a great view over the tea plantations and lake Gregory. The staff was very helpful. We arrived late and the kitchen staff waited for us in case we wanted some food.
The view was amazing and staff was incredible
The room was located next to dining room and no sound proofing. Could not rest or relax because we could actively hear conversation outside the door
We had a wonderful stay in Nuwara Eliya. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Gregory Lake and just a short drive from Moon Plains. Our family was given the top-floor rooms, which had stunning views. On one side, we could see the beautiful tea plantations, and on the other, the peaceful Gregory Lake.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were always happy to recommend good places to eat and suggest nearby attractions to visit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable experience.
One small suggestion that could make the experience even better would be to have tea/coffee-making facilities available throughout the day in the restaurant, along with fresh milk. This would allow guests to prepare a cup of tea or coffee whenever they like and relax while enjoying the beautiful views from the restaurant.
Location best
I stay near the resturent , meal happening time is also busy and noisy.
Nice location. Near to the lake. Though not all rooms face the lake.
The property required us to climb 3.5 floors to reach our rooms. There are no elevators and there was no mention of the same in their website details. For someone who just recovered from a knee surgery, it was a tough experience. On telling them that they should highlight it right at the first page , they told me that I should have asked if the place had elevator or not. Seriously?!

Friendly staff.
One of the best service I’ve ever experience staying in a hotel. I’ve not seen such excellent service even in hotels where I’ve paid hundreds of dollars for a night. For the money their service, attention to detail and breakfast was just amazing.
We stayed here for 2 nights - I went back and forth as I wasn’t sure how many nights we are going to be in Nuwara Eliya but they were flexible to my requests. Every service request was promptly responded to. Mind you it does get very cold in this place and there is no heater but the water was nice and hot. It was fairly clean too - it is an old hotel but the views from here were gorgeous - lake on one side and tea plantations on the other. The hotel had a glorious time in the past I think as we could see lot of really beautiful couches in the hallway.
The breakfast was a big spread. We tried both western and Sri Lankan breakfast and both were good. We had to leave at 7 am on second day and they were kind enough to pack us sandwiches, juice and bananas. I mean who does that that too for this price.
Special mention to Mr Navneetharaj and Mr Srikanth who took great care of us during our stay. I highly recommend it.
Room is not heated as I think many places are not accustomed to having a heater so it was a bit uncomfortable but they did provide extra blankets.
We only stayed one night and couldn’t wait to leave.
Asked for two single beds for our children, was given a double bed.
The whole hotel is dated and would only suit backpackers.
Our room was filthy, beer cans under our bed.
It is situated well outside of the main centre of town.
There was rising damp and a foul rubbish odour outside of our children’s bedroom.
Did not enjoy one second of being here.
Very good location. Service was great and the view from room was good.
Everything was good
Beautiful location overlooking Lake Gregory with great walking opportunities at nearby tea estates. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Amazing breakfast with a view.
We stayed at Palazzo Lake Gregory for two nights on a B&B basis. We took a room with a Gregory Lake view. They gave us a warm welcome. The room and bathroom were really clean and had hot water. Both breakfasts were really good; we ordered string hoppers for day one and an English breakfast for day two. The restaurant faced a beautiful tea estate and it was a very beautiful scenery when we had breakfast. They even arranged a surprise birthday cake cutting for my birthday, which was really unexpected but very touching and amazing. Highly recommended.
