The room was lovely, I stayed in the family room and it was just perfect. The staff were amazing! Couldn’t do more, so helpful and friendly. Will 100% be returning
Nothing really.
The hotel has beautiful surroundings. It is very clean with excellent facilities, the staff were so helpful and really look after their guests. It was so peaceful we had the best sleep. We did not want to leave. We are going to return with rest of the family.
That we didnt stay longer, we did not want to leave. It was beautiful. Thank you for a lovely stay Woodland Hall.
Room was nice, and bed comfy
Bathroom - there was a turd in the toilet and "toilet snails" inside the pan, despite a sticker on the room door saying the room had been "professionally cleaned"
Breakfast - no menu, no muesli, no brown bread for toast, no marmalade, tea in a cup, i.e. no pot, a sundae spoon to stir my tea?
Cup of tea in the room - UHT milk was off so the last mouthful of tea was lumps, presumably curds and whey - gross..
No water for over 24 hours when we arrived. Caravan was dirty. Found ear plugs and dirty socks covered in dust under the beds
The whole experience
Location
Wifi does not work
Hair in the bed which ruined it
No towels or even a bar of soap to wash hands
No dish cloth to wash up
The location
Nothing all was good
Room was huge and absolutely gorgeous, all staff we met were lovely too. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very modern. Lots of parking and added perk of 20% off food and drink for hotel guests which was amazing!
We had a lovely relaxing stay.
The main door leading up to the bathroom/bedroom didn’t lock, only the bedroom could be locked. On two occasions our door was opened and people entered the room, they left when they heard us talk/walk around etc. One occasion whilst I was in the bath which was quite scary. We emailed the hotel and still haven’t had a response so be careful if staying in the Tower Room when leaving the bedroom into the bathroom.
Comfy very spacious
Nothing
Staff facilities
Not their fault but a leak resulted in other family members leaving a night early in one of the caravans
Up grade looks lovely
Cobwebs and flys all over the room and faeces in the toilet . Tea and coffee not replenished on our second night or towels .
Upon arrival, we were told the room we had booked was double-booked, and we had to wait over an hour before being given keys to a different room. The room provided was not the one we booked — instead of two double beds, we were given one double bed and a make-up bed.
The alternative room itself was in very poor condition:
• The windows did not work.
• The room door did not lock securely.
• There were dead flies in the towels provided.
• The bath leaked badly, flooding the bathroom floor.
• The bedding was stained and the room was dusty, causing me to suffer persistent sneezing even after my stay.
• Noise from the hotel continued until 1:30am, preventing us from getting any rest.
When we raised these issues, we were told we would be refunded. However, four days later we were informed that this must now be done through Booking.com, which has caused further inconvenience.
Given the catalogue of problems — from being given the wrong room, the unacceptable cleanliness standards, the unsafe facilities, and the disturbance to our stay.
