I booked a one-night stay at Grand East Resort & Spa - Dead Sea because the main reason for choosing this hotel was to enjoy the swimming pool and spa facilities.

Check-in was at 3:00 PM, and check-out was at 12:00 PM the following day. At no point during the booking process was I informed of the swimming pool’s operating hours or closing time. This information was not displayed on the Booking.com listing, nor was it communicated to us by the reception staff during check-in.

After checking in, we settled into our room and then went for lunch at around 6:30 PM. When we returned, we were shocked to find that staff were already asking all guests to leave the swimming pool so they could begin the cleaning and chemical treatment process. As a result, we were completely deprived of using the hotel’s main facility—the very reason we chose this hotel.

Had we been informed of the pool’s operating hours before or during check-in, we would have planned our time differently and used the pool earlier. More importantly, had this information been clearly disclosed before making the reservation, I would likely have chosen a different hotel. Guests should not have to discover such important restrictions only after they have already paid for their stay.

I raised the matter with the hotel manager, hoping for a reasonable solution. Unfortunately, the complaint was handled in an unprofessional and disappointing manner. The manager initially offered complimentary access to the spa as compensation, but shortly afterward withdrew the offer after realizing that the spa was already closed. He then suggested that the receptionist had probably informed us of the pool’s operating hours. This is simply not true. No one informed us of the pool’s operating hours during check-in, and this information was not available on the Booking.com listing when I made the reservation.

The manager also offered to extend our check-out by two hours. However, this was not a meaningful solution.

Cons:

My only problem was the AC in the room. I feel like it's a fan; it doesn't give cold air.
