Pekoe villa Watagoda

The owner is a very open-hearted lady who will make you feel at home. The dinner she prepared for us was one of the best we've had in Sri Lanka. And the portions were generous. The room was decorated in a very cozy way and it really stood out from most of the places we stayed so far.

I had a delicious dinner and breakfast here, my room was comfy, the wifi was strong (had to take a work call) and this was a great place to be for the Pekoe Trail.

The stay was really good! Aunty Saroja was such a lovely host and made us the most amazing food. We met her two sons and grandchild as well; made us feel like we were part of the family. Her son Kumar was the one who liaised with us and was always prompt and specific in his replies.
If you are planning to trek Pekoe 6 from Watagoda to Kotagala or the other way around, the location is super convenient, maybe just 5 minutes from the start of stage 6; making it the perfect place to either set out early morning (after a thumping breakfast) or to come in after the hike and relax. The bus from Kotagala - Thalawakelle - Watagoda also stops extremely close by. All in all, would recommend wholeheartedly.

Very friendly homestay and authentic homemade food. Perfect for hikers on pekoe trail which is only ca. 500 m away.

L’hôtesse est charmante et cultivée. La terrasse est un lieu de rencontre et d’échange au milieu de la nature. La nourriture est délicieuse.

Die Vermieterin ist wirklich sehr nett, und es macht spaß sich mit ihr zu unterhalten. Ich habe immer doppelt und dreifache Portionen gegessen , es war genug da. Sie kocht sehr gut!

Tout. L'accueil de la famille était incroyable, nous avons passé un séjour entourés de sourires, de bonne humeur et de bienveillance.
La maison est très bien située, proche de la gare de Watagoda, du village, et des plantations de thé, parfait si l'envie vous prend de parcourir une étape du Pekoe Trail. Cet endroit est un petit coin de paradis extrêmement confortable où vous ne manquerez de rien. Il y a même l'eau chaude !
L'hôte est une cuisinière hors pair, elle nous a régalés à tous les repas, et prenait toujours plaisir à partager sa culture avec nous.

Here, you will be greeted by Saroja, she is a very warm person and an excellent cook. Omg!! the food was amazing(fingerS licking good), the room and the bathroom were very clean. I highly recommend a stay there.

Perfect for Pekoe trail stage 5 / 6. 5 mins from Stage 6 trailhead. Very welcoming host, great home cooked meals.

Like the other comments said: staying here is an unforgettable experience.
We were lucky enough to be here when the two sons paid a visit to there mom (the woman managing this homestay) and we felt like we were part of their family.
Very friendly and welcoming. And one of the best sri lankan food we tried, everything is homemade.
The bed was good and the place is very quiet, we had a good sleep. Kumar (one of the son), works for hostel so he knows all the little things that make a good stay.
You're really 5mn by walk from the railway, which was very convenient for us.
