View
It smelt. Confusion over which room. No water glasses. No loo paper. No bedside table lights. Good picnic breakfast though.
Fantastische locatie aan het Nasser meer

Nice view

Our visit started off well when Ash from Habib Camp picked us up from the airport. We were shown to our rooms which although basic were pretty much as expected with ensuite bathrooms and aircon. Beds were a little hard and a bit weird having a duvet with no cover but sheets and pillowcases were clean.
Had a welcome drink and Ash offered us lunch which arrived about an hour or so later, nice but fairly basic meals of chicken or fish with rice and salad.
We discussed our plans during our 1 night visit and Ash dutifully drove us to the temple for the sound and light show in the evening and then at 5am the following morning he drove us back to the temple for sunrise before driving us back to Habib Camp. We stopped off at a local shop en-route with Ash purchasing our supplies for us and us reimbursung him so we wouldn't be charged overinflated tourist prices, which was very kind.
The problems came when just before checking out we were given a final bill.
It's the first time on our 2 week trip we'd been unable to confirm prices before an activity or meal, each time being told not to worry it would be a fair price.
In our opinion it was far from a fair price.
We were charged 750egp (approx $15) per person for our lunch, plus an additional 100egp ($2) per soft drink or small bottle of water, water usually selling for about 5egp (10 US cents) a bottle in the shops. For context, In luxor we had been paying 250egp for absolutely stunning meals.
For the taxi service we were charged 750egp ($15) per return trip to Abu Simbel Temple, a journey of about 6km and taking maybe 15 minutes.
As others have said, the camp is in a very remote location and with an imminent flight to catch we were reliant on transport back to the airport (for which we were charged another $10) so felt we had no choice but to pay otherwise we could have been stranded.
Again, for context, in Luxor we paid 650egp ($13) for a driver for the full day taking us to a number of sites in the west bank.
We appreciate that Abu Simbel is more remote with less competition than say Luxor or Aswan but the prices sprung on us were absolutely ridiculous (3 to 4 times more expensive) compared to everywhere else in Egypt and was the only time in our whole trip we felt ripped off.
The property itself is nice and in a great location but the huge amount of litter on the beach is disappointing and put us off swimming in the lake. For a couple of hours work clearing up the place could look absolutely fabulous.
This place is a small paradise in Abu Simbel. With a view of Lake Nasser (where you can also swim), it offers a reprieve from the heat and the hectic life in Egypt. The host, Ash, was simply amazing. Kind, respectful. We got to talk a lot and know more about the Egyptian culture through him. I’m looking forward to coming back to Habib Camp.
A bit expensive for the rest of Egypt, but I think that for Abu Simbel it’s to be expected, since it’s so desolate. And anyways, it was worth it.
It’s calm place near lake fare away from civilisation. It’s was nice to sleep here. We had just 1 night, but it’s no voices, beautiful sunrise, calmness. We came with car and found this place fast.
Better to have anti mosquitos window nett to have opportunity open the window for a night, otherwise room is stuffy
Scenery at the beach is amazing. The camp is quiet, serene and owner takes great care of us!
Meals on site are delicious but a bite expensive (40 US for 3 per meal)
Amazing place ! Peaceful quite, dreamy place.
Ashraf is very friendly and always wanting to help, excellent place to stay in Abu Simbel
Shower could be better
The camp is in a beautiful location.
The camp is not ready to have guests. The breakfast was very poor and the manager had to order breakfast from outside which took over 2 hours to get there. We had to pay for the transportation back and forth even though it says that this is included.
Th price of the camp is very expensive for what it is. The rooms are comfortable, but the beach area is full of trash which is sad for such a beautiful place in nature.
The camp has a lot of potential, but much needs to be fixed before it becomes a good place to stay in.
Habib Camp is a maximum heart -warming place to stop in Abu Simbel! Location is super. The friendly host offers both transport and catering. We had a great experience! Ps. However, there is no Wi-Fi option, it should be taken into account.
Absence of a decent way to move to the city by foot.
Beachfront
Nobody was expecting us. The room was not clean. There were a lot of dead flies and mosquitos and even bird poop on the beds. No bed linen, just plain duvets.
There was hair from previous guests everywhere on the beds and in the bathroom.
The place felt like nobody visited for weeks, with cobwebs everywhere on the outdoor furniture.
We did not expect a sparkling clean hotel room, we understand a camp has flies and can’t be kept 100% clean. But this was easy to catch.
We had to find last minute alternative accommodation and did not receive a response from Mr Habib at all not a refund.
Amazing location on the shore of the lake. Super nice guys, he helped us to find taxis to go to the temples and airport.
Quiet place, beautiful view and very friendly guy ! Thanks a lot
Nothing, honestly he did everything he could to help us and make our stay enjoyable
