A peaceful oasis with amazing ocean views and outstanding Creole cuisine!

I spent just over two weeks at Villa Anakao at the end of September on a business trip in Port-Louis, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Villa Anakao is a true oasis of peace and tranquillity, with beautiful views of the ocean and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.

The staff deserve special praise. Everyone is incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to make sure you feel comfortable. The rooms are clean, regularly serviced, and equipped with everything you need, including a kettle for making tea or coffee. All rooms are decorated in a distinctive style inspired by Africa.

One of the absolute highlights, however, is the hotel’s restaurant. Every evening, they serve delicious local Creole specialities at very reasonable prices. During my entire business trip, I never felt the need to go elsewhere for dinner! The food is excellent, and the staff are happy to accommodate your preferences. If a particular type of meat isn’t to your liking, they will gladly suggest an alternative, such as fish. The fish dishes were consistently outstanding. You can also order tasty snacks or a light lunch during the day at very affordable prices.

The location is another advantage, with convenient access to Port Louis city centre and free parking available for guests. There is also a regular bus service from the hotel. If you rent a car, Villa Anakao makes an excellent base for exploring the island, with easy access to the main roads. Beautiful sandy beaches such as Flic en Flac and Mont Choisy are reachable in around 40–45 minutes by car.

The only minor disadvantage is that the hotel isn’t situated directly on a beautiful sandy beach. However, if you’re visiting Mauritius on a business trip or prefer a more active holiday exploring the island rather than spending every day on the beach, this is an excellent choice.

For the ultimate experience, I would recommend booking a room on the upper floor with an ocean view. The views are truly special!

Cons:

The breakfast could be improved by offering better-quality coffee, a wider selection of food, more fresh vegetables, and fresher bread and pastries. The hotel’s outdoor areas also feel a little outdated and would benefit from some modernisation and more attention to cleanliness.

Villa Anakao – een verborgen parel op Mauritius.🌴🌞🌴
Pros:

Het mooie aan Hotel Villa Anakao is vooral de kleinschalige, persoonlijke sfeer: een charmante koloniale villa met tropische tuin, zwembad en uitzicht over zee. Geen groot luxe resort, maar juist authentiek, rustig en huiselijk, met vriendelijk personeel en veel karakter. Love it!

L’accueil, les prestations, le personnel, c’était parfait
Mentions spéciales pour le dîner, et encore plus pour le petit déjeuner, c’était superbement bon !

Cons:

Tout est fidèle aux photos, c’est un très bel établissement, malheureusement la vue sur l’océan c’est la vue au loin vers les pétroliers

Super gelegene Anlage mit durchgehend stilvoller Einrichtung und einem rundum stimmigen Ambiente. Großzügige Zimmer/Suiten mit tollem Ausblick. Super freundliches und zugewandtes Personal. Stets geputzter Pool. Frühstück einfach, aber gut und sehr individuell. Abendessen kostet extra, ist aber auch zu empfehlen.

Hier gibt es nichts, das nicht gefallen könnte.

Pros:

L'hôte et son personnel sont très accueillants, souriants et font tôt pour que votre séjour soit au niveau de vos attentes.
Nous étions dans le bungalow, il est très spacieux bien équipé, très confortable

Cons:

Il n'y a pas grd chose aux alentours quand on est à pieds, le mieux est d'avoir une voiture pour aller facilement à Port Louis ou Flic en Flac qui sont à environ 10min en voiture.
