Very nice international-standard hotel in the heart of AKL city.
Pros:

By NZ standards this was a very good hotel. We got upgraded to a bigger room for which we really appreciated. Unlike many hotels in NZ that have disappointed us compared to what we get internatioanlly for the price, this hotel was of "international" standard. Room was well appointed and was large with a seperate living room / family room. Clean, subtle but modern styling and very comfortable. The location is of course fantastic if you want to use the casino and/or the sky tower (just an elevator ride away) and if you want to explore downtown Auckland.

Cons:

Lighting was a bit dim but that's a minor point and seems to be the trend in many hotels these days.

Cons:

Self checkin. We had a staff member helping us through the self checkin procedure but then she allowed herself to be interrupted by another guest amd completely ignored us while we stumbled through the rest of the process.

Also, the carpets and furniture showed signs of needing a refesh.
