Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The pool was too small to swim and needed to be cleaned. The bathroom lacked a bit of privacy as doors are open at the bottom and the showers are only closed with a curtain (only one shower has a proper door)

The street it's located on looks like a war zone, really very run down. However they do control access carefully so it felt safe.

Didn't feel welcome. I think I was the only guest there and the staff didn't interact unless i spoke first and then they used google translate. Maybe because of the language barrier. Only one person spoke English and she was sick.
The check-in procedure was, take money, show bathroom and bed. That's it. Nothing about kitchen, things to do, wifi. Dorm rooms lacked finesse and quality. I was also put in a dorm with the staff when the hostel was empty.
Beautiful hostel, so much potential, just lacking the essential of a hostel in soul and atmosphere

Unfortunately, certain things made our stay at this hotel very unsatisfying:
- the bedsheets were dirty. In fact, it seemed liked there was bird shit on the sheets, which was disgusting and unsanitary. I have no idea how someone could have put up the bed linens and sheets with the bird shit all over it and not notice it.
We asked the reception staff to get fresh linens, which they handed to us. But we had to change the sheets ourselves and those were also not exactly clean (but this time 'just' stains, not shit)
Very poor service.

- we were only able to take cold showers in the morning. Again, we got in touch with the staff (preferably via messenger service, since we didn't get far at the reception with our lack in Spanish...) and they explained to us, that since it is a eco hotel, the machine that warms the water only works when there's sun.
Whish we would have known this and there's no information about the lack of warm water anytime there's no sun anywhere in the hotel description.

- the hotel offered a refund for the mentioned issues for which we gave them our PayPal information weeks ago. No refund or following message was ever received. So why even offer it?


For me, the two most crucial things for a good night stay (a comfy and FRESH bed and the ability to take a decent shower) was NOT offered by this hotel, so I can not recommend.

Also, when paying at the check-in, I was already asked to pay a tip. Since I figured, everything's going to be fine, I did, which I obviously regret now.
I would definitely recommend to only tip when finishing your stay.

The Internet was very fast, but my room was in the back of the property, where there was less reach.

we had just come from an island and all we wanted was to shower. i called this Hotel as it was new and asked specifically if they had hot water, she replied “what? of course we have hot water. come”. so we arrived and at the moment of taking a shower, only cold water . they claimed they couldn’t fix it because the mechanic was away already. very nicely, they made a bucket of hot water for the bedroom. the next morning we to take a shower again, nothing. i asked the owner for a partial refund given that the facility didn’t have the ONE thing we requested. they denied and offered a $5 discount. sadly, after this negative experience i cannot vouch to stay at this place even though, the receptionist was nice to us and agreed we shouldn’t have to pay full price.
