everything! location, the beautiful room with private onsen and a beautiful garden, the amenities, the comfortable beds, the delicious breakfast and the friendly staff. We are looking forward to staying there again
that we spent only one night at this beautiful hotel.
The room was very nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The private onsen on the upper floor was great. Meal portions were huge and generally tasty. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Location was only about 13 min walk from Jiaoxi station.
Uncomfortable and potentially dangerous (health wise) dinner experience: we ate raw fish when it wasn't supposed to be raw. Explanation: we were enjoying the delicious sashimi and more and more dishes kept coming to the table. At one point, the waitress brought us a big bowl of miso soup and put it on the burner at the table. She said "this is miso soup" and she left. We continued eating and a minute or two later she returned with a plate of beautifully sliced raw fish and said "this is Mahi Mahi" and left, with no other explanation. At that point we had already just had some sashimi, so we assumed this was more sashimi since it was served to us like that. So two out of the three of us took a slice and ate it raw. A couple minutes later the waitress returned and started putting the Mahi Mahi into the miso soup. We indicated that we had thought it was sashimi, and she said she would check with the chef if it was okay to eat it raw. Too late!!! We had already eaten it because you served it to us as though it were meant to be eaten raw! Please, explain next time if you are planning to come back and cook the fish, and if it is not meant to be eaten as served. This made us very nervous that we might become ill from the raw fish if it wasn't meant for raw consumption. The waitress seemed nervous about the situation which didn't make us feel any better. This was quite upsetting.
Another couple of issues we encountered:
We were asked to pay the remaining 70% (+ alcohol) of the bill in cash (with the 30% being taken off my credit card ahead of time). Booking.com indicates you can pay credit on site, and we certainly didn't have enough cash on hand to pay for the entire stay. They gave us a hard time for trying to pay with a credit card but we insisted, and after making a call to their boss they allowed it. It took three tries and three different cards for the system to work because they kept swiping it instead of inserting it.
Nice service with good onsen.
Toilet upstair which is not convenience especially at night.
