Great
The hotel's main plus point is its LOCATION, right smack at the main square, near the Clock Tower and the main gate to Old Town. Kotor Old Town is also very small so I guess going around would not be an issue with any hotel. I just liked that the hotel opened out to an open space and we could see out to the other buildings, the wall and the mountains behind them. We were upgraded to a room with view of the square and I thought this totally upped our stay experience in Hotel Vardar. The room was spacious with a comfortable sitting area where we could relax after a day of walking, with big windows to look out to the square, and there was enough space for the luggages and more. The bed was of good size and quality, we had comfortable sleep. The bathroom was also a big size, with double lavatories and heated flooring. Wall tiles and other fixtures were clearly of good quality.
We were there at the start of peak season and there were no cruise ships during our stay so the crowds weren't so huge then. By late afternoon, it seemed like we had the place all to ourselves. Maybe coz the buildings are close to each other, sounds like loud talking or laughing would bounce off walls and echo in evening. This didn't really bother us much and thought it just added to the old town charm
Breakfast is very good, with many choices. However, they didn't change much in the 3 days we were there, so maybe you can take note of this. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange our transfer to Dubrovnik. Everyone was always smiling, greeting and making small talks and seemed very proud of Kotor (of course!!). We just felt really at home at this hotel.
I couldn't think of anything.... perhaps just the breakfast spread to be the same on the 3 days we were there. If you are there for 1 or 2 nights, it's okay. It wasn't an issue for us though. Ah yes, I remember now that the drawers in the wardrobe were difficult to open because of its embedded handles, but of course this is a design issue. :) Again, not a big deal for us.
