Hmm. It really wasn't totally awful. There was hot water and the wifi worked.

Cons:

The staf was consistently surly, especially the morning receptionist, Maria.

The tiny bugs crawling around the desk appeared to be termites. At least they weren't bedbugs. No towels, no hangers. Other than the desk, which I needed for work, there was no place to put anything down except the floor.

I'm not sure if they overcharged me because the difference between the confirmed price and the price they charged may have been taxes. There was no explanation or receipt to let me know.

And the other thing was they asked for a deposit by bank transfer, which was impossible because I don't have an account in Colombia and I booked it from in-country. They sent me an automated text that implied it wouldn't be necessary with a flexible reservation like mine. Just to be sure, I texted them two days in advance to explain that I would pay in cash when I dropped off my bags the morning of my arrival. Not only did they never reply to that (I got the impression they don't read their texts on the booking platform), but I got a rather snarky WhatsApp message from the manager, Mustafa, at about 7 am on the day I got to town threatening to cancel my reservation.

I hauled my stuff across town unsure whether I would even have a room, so of course it slipped my mind to insist on a receipt.

They would have had to do very well to shake that bad first impression, and they didn't.
