I had a great experience in Antiparos, when I chose not to stay in the room I booked at Poema.
- I booked to stay for a night end of April, which is low season in Antiparos, at the flattering price of €110 through Booking.com. Reservation was for a duplex room, here is a part of room description “Featuring a terrace with mountain views, this apartment also features soundproof walls” etc – see photo attached.
- When I checked in (around 16.00) I was guided (actually rushed, to make it more realistic) to the room only to find out that the entrance is below ground level. I immediately made a complaint since in the room description there was no such mention. The check-in lady went away to talk to the manager and she came back saying that if I want an upgrade I should pay more money. I said no thanks and she left.
- I took a quick shower and left the room to find my friends in the island. When I came back (around 17.30) there was no-one in the reception. I walked into the room and went to the bedroom floor to get some sleep and there I realized that a disturbing low-frequency hum was there and would not stop (I have uploaded a video with this noise, use your earphones to hear the low-frequency hum). Trying to understand what this noise was, I went outside and realized that exactly on top of the bedroom is a jacuzzi of another room.
- At that point I was so pissed-off, and since there was no-one in the building to make again a complaint, I just took my things and left. I would have to put ear plugs to be able to stay in this place. I booked another room in another place. (no I would not make a phone call, it was still a time of the day that the receptionist should be in their place)
- A couple of days later I contacted booking.com , explained everything and asked for a refund. Booking.com representative was supportive, made contact with the hotel but got an answer that the hotel did now acknowledge all this and did not wish to provide a refund. Booking.

Εξαιρετικα ανετο κρεβάτι, φωτεινο ολο το δωματιο και δεν ήταν μεσοτοιχία με καποιο αλλο δωματιο, πληρως εξοπλισμένο με ολα οσα χρειάζεσαι και ακόμη περισσότερα.
