The room size was the only good thing
The pool was dirty and the lounge sofas had torn covers that had cat pee on them. There was no housekeeping unless you paid huge extra fees. There’s no restaurant on site. The coffee shop doesn’t open until 7am. Staff was less than helpful or cheerful.
This room was actually an apartment. It had a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a dining space with a table large enough for 4, a living area with a sofa and an arm chair, a large bathroom, and a washer/dryer. The closet was a HUGE walk-in closet with plenty of hanging, shelf and drawer space. The bed and linens were comfortable and everything was very clean. We had a nice view from our 10th floor room. The location was great. We were able to walk to a few different coffee shops, a deli, and a great pizza restaurant. We had an easy drive to and from Nissan stadium for a concert. Also an easy drive to the Buttermilk Ranch (excellent breakfast), The Cheekwood Estate and Gardens and Gaylord Opryland Convention center. The wi-fi coverage in the room is free and very good.
The "hotel" is actually an apartment building and the check in area is in the leasing office. We couldn't get into the driveway and weren't sure about where to park. My husband stayed in the truck, parked in the fire lane while I went in. Parking is in the connected garage and is at minimum $21.00 a day. If you leave and come back, you get charged the hourly rate ($6 - $9) and then still have to pay the $21.00 for the overnight stay. If you drove in and out a lot that could really add up!. You need a key to get into the building from the parking garage, so make sure you check in first. We were only able to get one key even though there were 2 of us. The nespresso machine in our room didn't work and I texted the concierge, but got no response. There was very low water pressure in the shower. The pool area had comfortable seating, but was not very clean. The pool was dirty Thursday night and the dirt was still in the pool on Saturday..also some moldy spots. The entire pool is only 3 1/2 feet deep. This didn't seem to bother the people who live there and the pool area was pretty busy all weekend. I'm old (60) and went down to read a book...felt like an outsider at a party I wasn't invited to. But a younger person might enjoy it. The air conditioning was cold but also very loud. In order to watch TV, you need to be able to cast from your phone. (It's not a "smart" TV). My husband could do it from his, but I couldn't from mine. The furniture in the room...especially the dining room chairs were VERY uncomfortable...probably the most uncomfortable chairs that I have ever sat in. The sofa and easy chair were OK, but very low backs so you can't really just relax. We had 3 adult children visit with us for dinner (the reason we wanted a larger hotel room) and we were all very uncomfortable. Overall, this room was not the "resort" style room and experience that I was expecting.
The pool was the best!
My kitchen faucet was a little busted and spurting out thebsode. Everything else was wonderful.
We've actually stayed in this hotel several times. My wife is a patient at Vanderbilt and has had several follow up visits. The proximity to the doctor's office from the hotel is perfect for early morning appointments. We'll actually be back mid November and look forward to another stay!
The only thing I can think of would be the parking...I don't think I've ever figured out how to make that work correctly, but that's on me, not the hotel.
Building and amenities are nice and seem well-maintained.
Poorly managed communication between staff regarding residents vs hospitality guests. Was awoken at 9am by two maintenance men who came into the room with a key. Staff claimed notice was given via email which we never received. Regardless of notice, that is not the way to handle maintenance issues in a hospitality setting. Despite expressing frustration with this, and how we were uncomfortable that they just came in on their own, staff and management refused to do anything to remedy this situation.
This was our second time at The Memoir and the same room too. Love everything about it…we will be back!
We had to leave
Independence, gym on site, easy to get to
Parking next door, unable to access unless having a US cell phone
That had everything I needed since the gym, pool table, ping pong
Very dog friendly. Great area outdoors for dogs to walk. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful place and only a 5 min uber ride to Broadway.
Memoir is a beautiful property! Classy, upscale lobby/common aRea and amenities (gym, outdoor area/pool). Staff were helpful, professional yet relatable. I believe his name was Mark—fun guy.
Our room was awesome with an amazing view of downtown Nashville. It was clean, kitchen with appliances, cookware, and flatware. The Nespresso (with pods, cream and sugar) was a nice touch! Our bed was comfortable. Also loved the bathtub!
We very much enjoyed our stay and will be back! We have already told our friends that the Memoir is the nicest (and most reasonably priced) place we’ve stayed in Nashville!
TV—would be more convenient to have a smart TV you can stream popular services from. Having to use Google Chromecast was a little inconvenient—worked from one of our phone but not the other.
Location was awesome. The room itself was nice bed was comfortable bathroom and kitchen washer dryer and items furnished were very nice, towels bedding robe hair dryer steamer! All great items provided!
Could not get help with television. Internet was not good. Called for help and no one returned my call.
