African Bungalows

Omdat onze accommodatie gerenoveerd werd mochten we in het Dow Beach Boutique Hotel. Prachtig gelegen!
Fantastisch uitzicht op de zee en alle activiteiten op het strand. Uniek omdat dit gedeelte van Nungwi authentiek is en het leven van Zanzibar te zien is.
Heerlijk eten, ontzettend aardig personeel (Magdalena 😀), altijd bereid om je te helpen, mooi schoon hotel.
Vanuit het hotel werd ons een late check-out aangeboden.

My daughter and I stayed there for 10 days. It was amazing. The owner and the staff were always helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. We had a swimming pool with sun loungers just in front of our terrace.
It is a kind of boutique resort, very cosy and relaxing, with lots of greenery. Meals were delicious, freshly made and diversified. 5-minute walk to the beach and the nearest shops. Highly recommend.

African Bungalows’ta eşimle 6 gece harika bir konaklama deneyimi yaşadık. Burası gerçekten huzurlu ve sıcak bir atmosfere sahip küçük bir cennet gibi. Özellikle çalışanların ilgisi ve samimiyeti bizi çok etkiledi; daha ilk andan itibaren kendimizi evimizde gibi hissettik.

Odalar oldukça temiz, konforlu ve özenliydi. Bahçe ve havuz alanı çok güzel düzenlenmiş, gün içinde dinlenmek için ideal. Kahvaltılar güzeldi; taze, lezzetli ve özenle hazırlanmış.

Konumu da çok avantajlı hem sakin bir ortamda kalıyorsunuz hem de plaja, restoranlara ve diğer yerlere yürüyerek kısa sürede ulaşabiliyorsunuz.

Bardzo miła obsługa, pani menadżer zawsze na posterunku, pomocna. Właściciel pomógł nam nawet zorganizować leki dla żony. Śniadania obfite, smaczne, pokoje czyste. Do plaży dość blisko, ale droga nieco zawiła. Basen czysty, okolica zadbana. Polecam.

Lovely location, very close to the beach. Clean and spacious rooms with an awesome garden and swimming pool. Great for relaxing and wonderful for solo travelers, couples, retirees etc

The hotel was exceptional. We loved the service, the attention to detail, the room, and the food—everything exceeded our expectations. The staff truly stood out: they were always smiling, eager to help, and genuinely committed to serving the guests. This is definitely a hotel I would recommend without any hesitation.
The attentive service and the owner’s special gesture of greeting each guest make the stay feel truly welcoming and like being at home. I remember a few names out of the all staff that was great, Angelina, Magdalena, Elizabeth... ALL GREAT!

It’s also important to note that the Bungalows hotel has a sister property right on the beach. You can go there for breakfast, use the deck with the sun loungers, and pay either there or at the Bungalows hotel. You can also use the showers and towels. It’s about a 500–600 meter beautiful walk to get there, and it’s an excellent option if you want to spend the whole day at the beach.

The staff was very friendly - I like that when I told them about our leaving in the middle of the night for our flight they proactively offered to switch the free breakfast for a free dinner.
All of the staff was absolutely friendly.
The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fairly modern.

The property itself is a hidden gem. All the staff was very nice and helpful. From the 1st day we arrived everything went well even though we arrived during the night, the security was expecting us. The hotel manager Evangelina answered all our questions and helped us where needed even when I fell sick she did everything to help us out. The cleaning people did a very good job and also the rest who took care of the garden and surroundings. The same goes for the security people, always in good mood and very friendly. The staff at the massage and the restaurant were also very nice and friendly. Nothing what we asked for was too much - they always did their best to accommodate. We also used the massage services and both price and service were to our satisfaction. The food in this hotel was amazing, quality, presentation and taste - the best we had during our stay in Zanzibar - it is a pity if one does not try it out. As both my partner and myself had birthday during our stay, we both had a nice surprise arranged by the staff and made our day one to remember (let yourselves be surprised). The breakfast was very good with fresh fruits everyday, eggs cooked at your own choice and combined with a surprise of the day. The tours arranged from the hotel met also our expectations. We met also the owners and they are also nice people and ready to help. Definitely nothing to complain about and if we had to go to Nungwi again we would not look for anything else but go directly to African Bungalows. Thank you very much African Bungalows and please do not change anything :-)

Litet och familiärt boende med 12 rum fördelat i flera bungalows runt poolen. Nyrenoverad, allt var mycket fräscht! En lugn oas där man kan vila upp sig och glömma all stress!
2 minuters promenad till stranden och 3 minuter till souvenirbutikerna.

Evangelina med sin personal och ägaren Ersoy som alltid var på plats uppfyllde alla våra önskemål!
Tillhörande restaurang där man äter frukost, lunch och middag har öppet från tidigt på morgonen till sent på kvällen. Frukosten var varje dag varierad, en tallrik med frukt och sen en tallrik med ägg, bröd och sött. Mer än tillräckligt!
Matmenyn hade inte jättemycket urval (men det räckte) fast mycket godare än många restauranger i närheten! En eloge till kocken!

Boendet hörde ihop med ett hotell vid stranden där man kunde använda solstolarna gratis. När det var ebb var det bekvämt att ligga vid poolen här.
Möjlighet att boka massage finns på boendet.
Inga myggor i februari.

Очень уютный , тихий, комфортный отель. Красивый ландшафт, со вкусом обставлен , идеально содержится. Персонал отзывчивый и заботливый, администратор Анджелина всегда на месте, всегда отвечает на любые вопросы и готова помочь.

Everything about this hotel was simply amazing. The moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed and taken care of.

The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help with anything you need. The owner goes above and beyond to support guests and make sure everything is perfect throughout your stay which makes a huge difference.

One thing we really loved was the breakfast. It changes every day, which keeps it interesting and shows the effort they put into creating a great experience for guests.

The location is also ideal, just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the ocean whenever you want.

Overall, an unforgettable stay. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it

Ruhige, kleine Anlage in guter Lage und mit angenehmer Atmosphäre. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und konnten das Zimmer bereits lange vor der eigentlichen Eincheckzeit beziehen. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam. Das Zimmer war geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in African Bungalow.

il nostro soggiorno al African Bungalow è stato meraviglioso, abbiamo passato 7 giorni di puro relax. iniziando le giornate con la colazione deliziosa ogni giorno diversa. la stanza pulitissima. tutte e persone che lavorano sono state super gentili e solari. in più la tranquillità al interno dell'hotel è unica, difficile da trovare in alti posti a nunguwi.

Personal so weit freundlich. Die Lage relativ strandnah, war ok.
