The setting in the old castle is amazing and that alone is worth staying here - it feels a bit like being a guest in a country-house party as you sit in the library reading the art books - or enjoying the art in the sitting rooms or wandering the wonderful gardens and being amazed at what 3 workers have achieved to transform the landscape.
Fortunately there were no selfie stick folk there - so we got to enjoy the grounds and castle in peace.
The location is great - Caslav town nearby is a great place to walk around and there is a wonderful local dress designer's shop just off the main square that will eat into your credit card! Kutna Hora gets crowded for good reasons - it is beautiful and historic - but staying nearby means early and late visiting when the day trippers are away.
The rooms we had were in old converted farm buildings in the garden. They were basic and quiet but had no windows you could see out of. We stayed in summer when it was very hot and fortunately there was a fan.
The shower - see below - had good warm water and the mini kitchen was great for making basic snacks and teas or coffees - but not for main meals.
Breakfast in the castle was a bit costly - but worth it.
The sat nav guidance to reach here is terrible - it leads you to a blocked road. Even when you are right outside the gates there was no sign that we coud see to say we were in the right place. Only with the ariel photos from Google Maps could we identify the place and then make up a route to get there!
The rooms we had were in old converted farm buildings in the garden. There were no windows with views and the first job I had to do after we moved in was to get on my knees and unblock the shower drain that was filled with long black hair - not a great start. But the beds were comfortable and the room functional.
So it was strange - a fabulous castle experience but a very basic "box room" experience for the overnight part. However for a short stay it was great and we would go again. Perhaps if the main castle bedrooms had been free when we booked it would have been a better overnight experience.
Rating the garden room alone you wouldn't get a high Booking-Com rating - but the location does make up for it - so its a kind of 5* vs 10* place for us - which is why it gets a 8 rating for our stay.

We stayed in the garden rooms , they were clean and spacious the garden is very beautiful the chateau looks beautiful The surroundings are beautiful The staff are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good . Very quiet pastoral place.
The room was very hot in August and the garden naturally have much insects that ended in our room because the heat was unbearable without opening windows . At night the lighting was not sufficient on the way to the room.

We loved everything about the place! The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were kind and helpful, the food delicious! But most of all- the location! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, and a delight to stroll around.

Zámek, nádherná zahrada, park a celé okolí jsou skvělé na procházky a naprostý klid. Přijetí bylo moc milé a bezproblémové.
Počítejte ale s čistým digital detoxem – apartmán bez televize, Wi-Fi ani data moc nefungují. Ze začátku možná nezvyk, ale pro rodinnou pohodu a odpočinek od moderních technologií to bylo vlastně skvělé. Večerní posezení venku v zahradě nemá chybu.
V horku sice chybí klimatizace, ale byl nám nabídnut větrák k zapůjčení. Pokud si chcete odpočinout od shonu, vřele doporučuju!
