The grounds were beautiful.
The food was very poor in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. For such a high end stay and the price of the stay the food was very disappointing.
When we arrived there was a wedding on which was in the bar and when we went in to get a drink we were told we could not be served there which was disappointing.
Staff were lovely
Breakfast could be better
Beautiful property well maintained
Location and setting beside the lake and golf course. Quirky interior and rooms. Bonnie’s restaurant.
Lift was not working during our stay. First room we were allocated, the drain in the sink was choked. The staff were very good and offered us an alternative room. The first room we were offered did not have all the amenities and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. The second room was acceptable. The “munchies” and mini bar contents were overpriced in my opinion.
Lovely staff, clean, amazing grounds and dog friendly
Many facilities were not in use such as the “heated pool”, hot tubs and fire pit (which we were told was only used for special occasions.)
The purpose of my booking was these facilities which were all not in use at the time, had I known they were not in use I would have chosen a different place.
The price that was quoted on booking.com wasn’t the price I paid I had to pay over 40 euros more
The over night cost was too expensive
When we checked in at 4 pm as requested the only dinner time we could get in the restaurant was 5-15 , the restaurant was vertully empty while we dined
I had booked two bedrooms one of the bedrooms both sinks were blocked very disappointing
The hotel is beautiful with lovey rooms and outdoor pool
The restaurant was disappointing
Clean, warm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere
Outdoor pool could’ve been warmer
There is not much to dislike about the property. Its location is so peaceful and tranquil, the log fires burning in the lobby and restaurant are cosy and atmospheric. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The outdoor heated pool is a lovely facility. We stayed in a classic room. It was spacious, spotless and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. There’s a play room for smaller toddlers.
I think the pool area would do well with a small shelter with hooks to hang towels and gowns because if it’s raining you have no choice but to leave your towels and robes in the rain. Also as an adult supervising a child you have to stand out in the rain. A small sheltered seating area would be good. Hot tubs are €50 per hour for a maximum of 4 people but for a couple or even a person on their own it’s a bit pricey. We had dinner in Bonnie’s. It was very good and service was very friendly and fast but I thought the menu could have had a bit more choice but that’s just a personal opinion and the breakfast continental buffet could be better with more variety. There were ample tea bags and coffee in the room but maybe a few sachets of hot chocolate would be a nice idea for the younger guests.
Loved the decor and vibe
Outdoor heated pool lovely and free bike hire. Room was nice. Food was good.
Extra charge for hot tubs. Extra charge for all side dishes on an already costly food menu. Poor breakfast service both mornings.
Laid back feeling
Rooms pretty pricey
