It’s a lovely old building.
There is no sign to say where it is. I walked around for quite a while trying to find out where it is. The front door is always locked so that also confused me, thinking it was someone’s house.

breakfast was very restricted, poor options and very late, started 9:30. If you have plans for the day, you will be late
Amazing location on the "quiet" side of Kotor Bay. The owner and personnel were really friendly. There's a private swimming area in front of the villa with sunbeds and chairs.
It's of course an old building so can be a bit noisy, but nothing too bad for us.
We liked the Old Marina, but the issue was that it wasn’t really as described in online website. We booked it because it was described as a 4star with private parking. Well, it certainly wasn’t 4 star! Not even close. The parking was limited and across the street and unmarked.
It was incredibly difficult to initially locate as it did not display any sign or name to tell you that you were in the right place. Our room was OK with lovely views across the water but the en-suite shower room was tiny and not well equipped or maintained.

Be careful with this property as I have been charged for the stay 3 times. Once 6 months before my stay, then once one month before my stay & finally one month after my stay. After contacting the owner he said he would issue a refund which I amn still awaiting for 2 months later. I am told the delay is due to money laundering checks by the bank. BE CAREFULL IF YOU BOOK THIS PROPERTY THAT YOU ARE NOT CHARGED MANY TIMES.
I have been overcharged 3 times for my stay at this property. BE CAREFULL.......
Location, scenery, access to the water, parking spot, historical building, friendly and helpful owner. Several restaurants, a local supermarket and bakery nearby.
Easy access to the ferry in Lepetane to avoid driving through Kotor and round the inlet
The portable AC struggled to keep the room cool.
Absolutely beautiful place away from the main Kotor crowds, room was perfect and very traditional and loved the view over the bay. Staff very friendly and welcoming and loved the terrace in front overlooking the bay. Wish I could have stayed longer.
There's a little traffic noise outside if you have windows open to let air in, but the thick windows massively cut it out when closed. Also a little annoying to be woken up by a large Tui cruise ship pulling in bellowing announcements across the bay (no fault of hotellier)
Perfect location, very good rooms, polite staff, The tables located in front of the hotel offer a wonderful view that we admired for hours. Recommend
Location was nice, good breakfast, pleasant staff
Wi-fi was not working the night when we arrived, only in the morning. Our bathroom didn’t have a shower curtain nor hooks to hang towels. This resulted in whole bathroom floor being covered in water. AC was working loudly. However for us the worst thing was pillows - very stiff and tall, straining the neck. Also do not forget that you have to reserve parking before arriving
The location is the only reason to stay at Old Mariner. Right on the water with access to Kotor Bay.
Do not book the Double Room with Garden View. The only view is of a dirty side yard through barred windows. There were no blinds on the windows to block the light. Internet was very slow and not usable. Bathroom was moldy and having a shower meant that everything in the bathroom got wet... extremely small shower with no curtain. I'm sure the rooms facing the bay are nicer but I would not stay here again. Unless you pay through Booking.com, they require payment in cash which is very inconvenient.
Everything was perfect, this is the real getaway, if you need one! I will deffinitely come back. The name itself derives from or at least, invokes S. T. Coleridge's "The Rhyme of Ancient Mariner"... it has something in it, in that old building! It was something special, you feel out of place and time. History in making, immortal and timeless!
Our stay at the Old Mariner Villa was such a unique and memorable experience.
Breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere made it all the more enjoyable. As Canadians (whose country is less than 160 years old!) staying in a building that's over 1,000 years old was especially fascinating - so much history and character! The host was incredibly welcoming. He greeted us upon arrival, gave us a lovely tour of the property, and even helped arrange our taxi rides to and from the villa. We truly felt well taken care of.
Very friendly host. Great breakfast. We went on an activity by boot, arranged by the host, and he prepared us breakfast afterwards so around noon, which was really nice.
A little smell in the bathroom.
Everything was in order, and the house was truly fantastic – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. However, one thing I didn’t like was the way the owner acted at the end of our stay. He didn’t say goodbye to us, and even raised his voice when asking us to move the cars from his parking area. It didn’t seem polite at all and somewhat affected our overall experience.
