Don’t go here
Pros:

Don’t go, worst hotel we’ve stayed in staff went out of their way to be rude and unhelpful, we ate in restaurant and wouldn’t recommend that either food awful and line it had been reheated and tasteless. Couldn’t pour a Guinness (3attempts) noisy room from a pump somewhere that intermittently cut in out, air con that doesn’t work, not great when you can’t open window, noise from other rooms , poor decoration( peeling paint, stained &dirty carpets)
Really felt we were an inconvenience to any of the staff we had to deal with.

Pleasant stay
Pros:

We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of October and had a nice stay. I felt for the staff that were on though, as one young lady was on the reception desk one minute, next minute welcoming us into breakfast, then clearing tables, topping up the coffee machine etc., etc. She really impressed me with her work ethic and I actually called her Wonder Woman! The breakfast was very good and filling. In our room, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was fairly good. Downstairs, however, it looked like an area close to the reception area (the door near to the lift) had a recent water leak and the carpet was damp and unfortunately there was a foisty smell that lingered in the corridor, but all in all a pleasant stay.

Would happily stay again
Pros:

Overall a good experience. Sadly in the accommodation area nearest to reception there was still a smell of damp and a nasty stain on a small area of carpet which I understand is from a recent roof leak. It would be good if the patch of carpet could have been replaced and maybe some fresh air into the corridor would help with the musty smell. However the room was comfortable, the food good and the staff excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

good hotel ruined by staff (or lack of)
Pros:

this was a return visit, but we opted for the new(ish) upgraded room. This was fine, but things did not work. It took ages to get any hotwater in the tap on the sink. The vanity unit light had a mind of its own and switched itself on and off at random when we were in the room with electric on. Shamefully, the hairdryer was broken and rattled - when I tried to swich it on, it filled the room with acrid burning smell (surprised the smoke alarm didn't go of - it was that bad. Of course this place is so short staffed that trying to find a person, to even tell them we wanted our room cleaned was a mammoth task and we had to give u!

Check-in despite having checked in on the app was a joke - chap on reception just looked at us as if we were aliens, no smile or anything! the other lady was on the phone to a client and we had to wait whilst a queue got bigger behind us. Telling them I was a shareholder when we did eventually get checked in, was met with writing my number on a small post-it note, which then was lost, and having an argument every morning with different people managing breakfast was bad - especially the last lady on Saturday, who had clearly never seen the card before and scrutinised it forever. Breakfast on the Saturday was a disaster - no hot food, so we had to wait, it was better earlier in the week, but again the pastries bread etc ran out and were never replaced. We never saw any fruit juices at all! Ever!

the towels are rationed too!

This has to be one of the worst Premier Inns i've stayed at
Pros:

I do love a Premier Inn but unfortunately this one in Inverness - I wouldn't come back to, sadly. Receptionist was very nice and welcoming when me and my colleagues checked in at 1am and the car park is a decent size for any vehicles looking to park. My room was on the ground floor and as soon as I entered the hallway all I could smell was cigarette smoke which was very unpleasant. The room was large and spacious. Bed was comfy and pillows were soft the way I like them, so got a decent sleep, however, the room was far too cold as there was no radiator or heater in the room plus I could hear someone else's bathroom fan on whenever they switched the light on which woke me up a couple of times, the walls are that thin. Also, the water pressure was shocking. Had to turn the water pressure all the way to scalding hot to get some heat, otherwise, I would've had an ice cold shower. Unfortunately, due to the cold room, cigarette smoke in the hallway and the long wait for the water in the shower, I won't be coming back to this hotel

Terrible service, no free Wi-Fi
Pros:

I just arrived at the hotel, and unfortunately, I didn't have a friendly receptionist. When I got to my room, the lights were on and the TV was on, as if someone had just left. The bathroom is handicapped accessible (which is very positive for people with disabilities), but in my case, there are no long curtains, water splashes all over the bathroom, and the discomfort of not even having a bathtub. I asked the receptionist for help, and she said that was it. She was curt and inattentive, and didn't even try to help. We asked for help with dinner, since the receptionist informed us that there were no opening hours at the local restaurant, and they simply said they couldn't help.
After hours of travel, what we expected was warm and understanding service.
Free Wi-Fi, only WhatsApp, everything blocked. If you want WiFi, you have to pay extra fee.

The Most Stressful Experience ever with Premier Inn
Pros:

After much stress and aggravation I have finally arrived to try and have a relaxing break in Inverness with my disabled wife.

On 30th August 2025 I booked an accessible wet room at Premier Inn Inverness West as below (under this complaint).

Last night at 2050 I received another confirmation email the same as below but the room had been changed to Double and not Accessible Wet Room.

I tried for 2 hours to contact the hotel by phone but no one was answering my calls. I sent an urgent email to the hotel before going to bed but like the phone calls there was no response.

I retried contacting the hotel again this morning on several occasions but no one was answering the phone. I contacted Premier Inn Central booking by phone but they could not resolve the issue and transferred me to the accessible team. The guy who answered the phone was constantly breaking up and I could not understand anything he was saying.

I tried the hotel number Again but no answer.

I re called the accessible team and spoke with Lana who was very helpful and understanding and did eventually manage to get my accessible room booked. She seemed to think there was a flooding incident or something at the hotel.

I left to take the 4 plus hour drive to Inverness and finally got checked in at 1800. My wife was extremely stressed and tired so I tried to get an early dinner booking but this was not possible due to staff shortage. So she's away to bed to de stress on an empty stomach.

On checking into the room it was inadequately prepared. TV remote not working (I fitted new batteries), only 1 bath towel rather than 2 and no hand towels. There was no extra pillows either but I did manage to get this resolved by the receptionist.

I also asked the receptionist about the issue with my booking, she said it was always an accessible room that was booked so I am unsure why I would receive a booking confirmation for a double room. There was also no issue she knew about with the hotel.

This has been the worst experience ever with Premier Inn over the many years I have used them. This is my third visit to a UK Premier Inn this year and could well be my last due to this appalling service. Whilst I accept issues can occur, it is imperative that staff at the hotel are on post to respond to booked guests. My travel was delayed because I need assurance that the room meets with the needs of my disabled wife before I travel a long distance as I cannot risk getting to my destination without such assurance.
Wet room didn't drain properly after use
TV kept switching off and on
Grill in Restaurant didn't work
Chicken curry was awful

Cleanliness 0 stars
Pros:

We stayed one night and chose this hotel due to location which did not disappoint however the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The hotel itself is looking tired and could be doing with a freshen up but the standard of cleaning was poor in the corridor's and in the rooms. The smell of dampness hits you as soon as you enter the corridor and the carpets needed a good vacuum. It was evident that the surfaces in the rooms had not been cleaned, splashes on walls not wiped, and carpet not vacuumed. Would not come back.
Staff is bar friendly and helpful.

Warm Welcome and Comfortable Bed, But Cleanliness and Facilities Need Attention
Pros:

I stayed here recently and was genuinely impressed by the warmth of the welcome. Staff were friendly and attentive. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was fairly good overall, though some areas could benefit from deeper cleaning, especially beneath the toiletry holder in the shower and along the bottom of the shower screen.

Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was very poor during my stay, which made it difficult to stay connected. More concerning were the restaurant toilet facilities (Ladies), which were dirty and had a persistent unpleasant smell, which this really detracted from the overall experience.

With improvements to cleanliness in both private and shared areas, and a reliable internet connection, this hotel could offer a consistently high-quality stay. The hospitality and comfort were definite strengths, but attention to detail in maintenance and hygiene is needed.

Recommendation is to avoid like the plague
Pros:

Truly appalling - apparently had a leaking roof this week. But looking at the outside there is evidence of unhealthy damp on all vent areas.

Room on 3rd floor was unusable because of stink of damp and rotting.

I have been moved to ground floor and room OK

If you are looking at this expecting a Premier Inn experience I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Restaurant has next to nobody in it but staff shortages mean that barely any booking available.

Brilliant staff, horrible hotel
Pros:

The staff at the hotel were amazing — very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They even provided snacks on Sunday morning for the marathon, which was a thoughtful gesture. This is the only positive thing I can say about the hotel, and I want to emphasize that every member of the team was genuinely kind and attentive.

The hotel itself is very run-down, with leaks everywhere and unpleasant odors throughout. The corridor on the ground floor between the rooms had a drainage leak, leaving everything damp and musty.

Our room was poorly ventilated (the windows couldn’t be opened) and had a constant smell of moisture and mold. Every time someone in the hotel flushed their toilet, the smell would come through ours. The humidity in the room was unbearable — even after 24 hours, none of the towels would dry. Trying to minimize the number of towels we used to help the hotel reduce washing, we ended up having to reuse damp towels repeatedly.

We paid what I consider an extortionate amount for our stay (I understand it was a busy period due to the Loch Ness Marathon), but the condition of the hotel was shockingly bad for the price. I’ve stayed in many hostels during my student days in the 2000s, but I’ve never experienced one as poorly maintained as this hotel.

Oh and the wifi was atrocious.

Comfortable and ideally located for Loch Ness marathon and exploring Inverness and surrounding countrysidess marathon
Pros:

We were pleasantly surprised after reading the recent negative reviews on various sites.
Despite the restaurant undergoing renovation and the hotel being very busy due to the Loch Ness marathon we were able to book a table for dinner Fri, Sat and Sun, albeit quite early. The food and service were good.
Communal areas definitely need an upgrade and more frequent cleaning but our room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were welcoming and free cereal bars, bananas and bottled water for marathon participants was a nice touch.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful, but the room was too hot overnight.
Pros:

The hotel room was large and clean and the shower was great (but I asked for a bathmat to use as the bath was slippery). The staff were excellent - always helpful and quick to help whenever asked. The downside was that you can't open a window and the room was very hot overnight - the room controls didn't help and even the central controls from the reception desk couldn't cool my room overnight. The lowest the room temperature settings allow the room to cool to is 19 degrees, but with the heating from the corridor (and possibly from other rooms) my room was much hotter overnight (It was around 21-23 degrees in the night which is far too hot for me).
The bed was not that comfortable - a bit lumpy and the corridor had leaks from the ceiling so there was a large damp patch on the carpet in the corridor which gave off a musty damp smell.

Pros:

Pues el hotel con fallas, tapetes con fugas de agua, el personal poco cortés, entiendo que inverness se vea rebasado por el turismo y haya poco personal, pero eso no va peleado con la amabilidad, algo ruidoso

5 star money for Fawlty towers hotel.
Pros:

Location is ideal for Inverness town and also to join in the Marathon activities. The atmosphere in the hotel feels dated and dull. Rooms were good and comfortable. The price I had to pay for the room was not good value - I would not use this hotel again for this event. Cleanliness in the public areas could be better but some of that is down to decor needing to be refreshed. Noise level in the room was good. Staff were amazing but could not cope with the number in the hotel. I felt very sorry for them - they were working so hard against the odds.

Nice personalised touch
Pros:

By now I think most people know what to expect from a Premier Inn in terms of value for money vs frills. It's cheap and cheerful, and as long as you're not expecting luxury you'll be ok.
I was there for the Loch Ness Marathon because it's situated very close to the start line. There were so many runners there that the management laid out baskets of free cereal bars, bananas and bottled water for us go take on the big day. If you're considering staying for next year's marathon, I can recommend on that basis alone!

Go Elsewhere!! Anywhere but here!!
Pros:

Good points: the hotel has ample parking and is near to a canal, which is lovely to walk along.

Bad points: Pretty much everything! Nearly impossible to get a table in the restaurant. Someone took pity on me and gave me their table one night - nearly regret that they did, the food was awful. The breakfast was bad too.
Nowhere close by to eat - there’s the golf club but they were fully booked too.
Room was dated and the smell in the bathroom was noxious!

Tired, dated & neglected. Staff work hard to make up corporate shortfalls
Pros:

The only thing that this hotel has going for it now is the location, with easy access to the city centra or for heading South down the shores of Loch Ness. The staff do their best with what they have to work with. The building itself is tired and dated and very run down looking. No longer a "Premier" Inn for the prices they charge. Worst of all, the restaurant was closed for food two nights out of the four that I had to stay here. Very little or no notice given. The place just looks neglected these days and as such, I was due to return in October 2025 for business but cancelled my booking and went elsewhere . Rooms are tired and dated/worn out looking as well with the only thing going for them is the comfy beds. Unable to open the windows and sketchy air conditioning which was stinking in my first allocated room, which I refused . It smelt awful and foosty !! C'mon Premier Inn, give this hotel a much needed revamp, it is in an ideal location for exploring the area. Prices for this hotel are way too expensive.
