Great hotel with no quiet hours policy
Pros:

I would normally give this hotel 10 out of 10, but unfortunately I cannot.

The hotel has an excellent location, around 30 minutes by car from Heraklion Airport. The apartments are spacious, clean and well equipped. There are several swimming pools, including children's pools, water slides, a playground, an indoor playroom, an outdoor workout area, a restaurant serving excellent food, and a beautiful sandy beach about a 5-minute walk away (although it can be windy with bigger waves). Every member of the staff we met was friendly, helpful and professional.

Cons:

Unfortunately, one issue significantly affected our stay.

Most family hotels have quiet hours so that guests can enjoy a good night's sleep. If uninterrupted sleep is important to you, I would recommend checking the hotel's policy carefully before booking.

Interestingly, the reception staff repeatedly told us that the hotel has quiet hours from 23:00 until 07:00 and assured us several times that any noise after 23:00 would be dealt with by security. However, when I finally spoke to the hotel manager, he explained that this was not the hotel's policy. According to him, 23:00 only marks the end of the all-inclusive service in the main bar, while the bar itself remains open for as long as guests wish to stay there. A member of staff also confirmed that if guests stayed until 5:00 a.m., the bar would remain open.

Our experience was as follows:

- Night 1: We arrived at 1:15 a.m. Everything was perfect.
- Night 2: Loud music continued until around 00:30, even though there was no football match. The next morning we reported it to reception and were assured that security would enforce the hotel's quiet hours after 23:00.
- Night 3: A football match was shown in the bar and cheering continued after midnight. Once again, reception apologised and assured us that the hotel had quiet hours from 23:00.
- Later that day, the hotel kindly offered us a room in a quieter part of the resort. We genuinely appreciated the effort, but changing rooms was not a practical solution because we were travelling as a family of eight, the rest of our family was staying next door, we would have had to spend hours packing and unpacking again, and our young children had already adapted to the room. We therefore politely declined and repeated that we were simply asking for the quiet hours we had been told about to be respected.
- Night 4: Another football match, more cheering until around 00:30.

Vorrei iniziare con una nota di merito: tutto il personale si è sempre dimostrato gentile, disponibile e attento alle esigenze degli ospiti, con un ringraziamento particolare allo staff della reception, che è stato professionale e cortese durante tutto il soggiorno.

Purtroppo la mia esperienza in questo villaggio non è stata positiva.

Gli aspetti negativi hanno inciso pesantemente sulla vacanza. La pulizia della camera e degli ambienti comuni è risultata ben al di sotto delle aspettative. Inoltre, la camera presentava diversi elementi rotti o malfunzionanti, segno di una manutenzione poco accurata. Il condizionatore colava acqua costantemente sui letti.

L'aspetto più deludente è stato senza dubbio l'animazione per i bambini. Di fatto è risultata inesistente: le attività non esistevano, i bambini venivano lasciati senza un vero intrattenimento. Le animatrici del mini club, purtroppo, sono apparse spesso svogliate, poco sorridenti e poco inclini a coinvolgere i bambini, trasmettendo una sensazione di scarso entusiasmo che ha reso l'esperienza davvero deludente. Non avrei mai prenotato se avessi saputo come funzionava.

Considerando il costo della vacanza e ciò che viene promesso, mi aspettavo un livello di servizio decisamente superiore. È un peccato, perché con un personale così cortese e disponibile si potrebbero offrire esperienze molto migliori, ma allo stato attuale non mi sento di consigliarlo alle famiglie con bambini.

Pros:

Very big apartment with bedroom, kitchens/living room and balcony. All inclusive kitchen was quite good.

Cons:

For cooking the kitchen was not well equipped. Aquapark is much smaller than it seems from photos.

Θα έπρεπε να υπάρχει τρόπος ώστε ξενοδοχεία σαν το MEROPI να μπορούσαν να βαθμολογηθούν πάνω από το ΑΡΙΣΤΑ.
Προσωπικό έτοιμο να σε εξυπηρέτηση σε ότι ζητήσεις,πάντα με το χαμόγελο και την ευγένεια και όχι με αυτό το υποκριτικό ύφος<πελάτης είσαι δίκιο έχεις.>
Δωμάτια πεντακάθαρα και καινούργια με τις πάντα χαμογελαστές καθαρίστριες να καθαρίζουν κάθε μέρα.
Περιβάλλοντας χώρος με αμέτρητους φοίνικες,πράσινο περιποιούμενο,λουλούδια και πάντα ΚΑΘΑΡΟ
Τρεις πισίνες ,με την διεύθυνση να ενημερώνει πως δεν μπορείς να κρατήσhς reserve ξαπλώστρα βάζοντας μια πετσέτα,κάτι που συμβαίνει σε όλα τα ξενοδοχεία.
Και φτάνουμε στο φαγητό.Πρωινό,και του πουλιού το γάλα,μεσημεριανό και βραδινό με απίστευτη ποικιλία από ψητά,μαγειρευτά.τηγανητά,σαλάτες ,γλυκά, και φρούτα.Προσωπικό από νεαρά παιδιά που φρόντιζαν πάντα το τραπέζι να είναι καθαρό και να εξυπηρετήσουν σε ότι χρειαστεί.
Και όλα αυτά υπό την καθοδήγηση ενός υπευθύνου εστιατορίου που τον μοναδικό του μέλημα ήτανε ο πελάτης να φύγει ευχαριστημένος, και μπορώ να πω τα κατάφερε
Και κάτι ακόμη.Είναι το μοναδικό ξενοδοχείο στα τόσα χρόνια που ταξιδεύουμε all inclusive και δεν έχει ΝΕΡΩΜΕΝΗ μπύρα και κρασί!!!

Great all-inclusive, staff awesome! Screens on windows would be a huge help!
Pros:

The staff were excellent! Very helpful and lovely to chat with. The food at the buffet was surprisingly good for an all-inclusive. It changed enough each meal that there was always something new to try with a lot of healthy and veggie options. We really liked the pools and the slides! The kids club was lovely, though it was more of a cool, elaborate clubhouse, rather than a daycare where we can drop the kids. The playground and grassy area was also great for our kids to run around on after meals. Really a great place to stay.

Cons:

The buildings are quite old, and our air conditioning didn't work one night. It was about 35 degrees in the room and we couldn't open the windows to let cooler air in because there are no screens on the windows, but lots of mosquitos. No fans to help with the heat, we just had to cook for a night. They should be better prepared for something like that. Screens on windows feels like a no-brainer. The amount of money they'd save on air conditioning being on would be huge!!!

Also, the cleaning staff came in our room 3 times when we were in the room when we had the "Do not disturb" sign on the door. The reception said they'd discuss it with the cleaning staff after the first time, but it didn't help, they still came in twice more. Really made our stuff feel not safe.
Lastly, they let my son go on the big slide the first day but then the rest of the time said he couldn't. He was pretty upset.

Echte aanrader als familiehotel
Pros:

Meropi is erg geschikt als familiehotel.
Vriendelijk personeel, niks is te veel.
Meerdere kleine zwembaden en uiteraard het naastgelegen waterpark(je) was geweldig. Het eten is gevarieerd en erg lekker, vooral vers. Al kom je op het laatste moment eten, er is genoeg en net zo vers.

Onze kinderen zijn 7 en 11 jaar en vonden het fantastisch hier.

Cons:

De gedateerde kamer. De keuken is erg oud, alleen was de badkamer tussentijds vervangen.

De kamer is wel erg schoon en dagelijks komen ze langs voor schone handdoeken, vuilnis enz. Heel fijn !
