It is true that this hotel is not close to the loud train station noise. However, our room on the 2nd floor faced the street there were loud, yelling, presumably drunk people out there ALL NIGHT. This wouldn't have bothered me 30 year ago. Hell, I would have been one of them. But when you want to go to bed at 9:00 pm so that you can get up at 4:00 am to climb Machu Picchu, this place is NOT what you want.
Also, I'm assuming because it's a budget place, there were young people staying there who lack the basic courtesy to avoid yelling in the hallways and slamming doors at midnight.
Windows don't close properly, which lets in the cold night air (and the aforementioned noise).
The hosts were nice and helpful. They stored our luggage when we went up to Machu Picchu. However, if you want your breakfast at 5:00 am, you probably better tell them 4:30 am.
They message you after you book a room asking for train information so they can come pick you up with a sign with your name written on it. Location was good, just a few mins walk. I thought it would be a closer walk just because it's right next to the train station. But you actually have to go around the station to the other side of the tracks. Room was spacious, but bathroom was small. No elevator tho. They make you eggs on demand for breakfast. The rooms are not really facing the train tracks so it seems more quiet. But there are no trains arriving or leaving at night times so doesn't really matter. The town is very small so everything is so close to each other. Staff are nice, makes you feel like home.
Just 2 minutes from train station. We requested a quiet room...And it was quiet. Per other reviews ...Room yadda musty smell.
No heat in the room, it got to about 40F, 5C overnight. You could hear everything from outside and next door through the walls. We had tremendous difficulty communicating our desire to change our reservation from one room to two with front desk receptionist. Given that two of us are native Spanish speakers, I don't expect language to have been a problem. We had to have an EXTREMELY unpleasant conversation with the building owner after they tried to increase the rate, despite the front desk receptionist insisting that we could check in, and that no extra fee would apply. Unfortunately, we paid this fee to avoid further discomfort and issues during our vacation. Hotels.com should get in contact with me immediately about this, as I will be calling as soon as I am able.
Passamos pouco tempo no hotel apenas um banho e dormir, é uma região apenas de passagem, na minhã opinião é simples mas objetivo ;)
Nice stopover for MP.
Staff were wonderful. Met me at the station on arrival. I was leaving for MP at 5am , they provided a bag lunch in place of breakfast. Also gave all the advise and directions I needed.
I was ok but street noise may put off lighter sleepers. Tbh whole town seems like a very lively place.
Good choice for a stopover before Machu picchu.
When we arrived, Jorge the administrator of the hotel welcomed us giving all the information we may need regarding our stay in Aguas Calientes, including tips for getting the most out of our trip to Machu Picchu. He really likes what he does, and he is always willing to help you in anything you may need, awesome staff.
The room was very clean, the bedding and the bathroom were very clean also, this is very important for us at the time of rating a hotel. The breakfast was simple but enough to recharge your energy before climbing the mountains.
If you need they can wait for you at the train station to guide you to the hotel, even though is very close and easy to find it within the city.
Only good thing, it is close to the train station. Rooms are small, but that is no big deal. We were there in late August, the was no heating in the room, and we were cold all the time. (It is winter over there.) We asked for portable heater, they did not have any. We had no hot shower at any time of the day, when we complained, they said in a half a hour. But it never happened. We were on the 4th floor and right above us they were doing construction starting at 6:00 am, and it was going on all they long. Very loud hammering , sawing, etc. By the morning, bathroom sink was full of little bugs and flies. Hotel stuff did not speak English, and was not helpful with anything. Breakfast was very poor, we didn't even eat it. At check-out they tried to give me back wrong change, less of course. I would only recommend this hotel to my enemies if I had any.
I stayed one night here to catch the first bus to leave for Machu Picchu since it was only about a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. The owner was very helpful and provided lots of useful information about Machu Picchu and hyuana Picchu and suggestions on when to wake up and when to leave to catch our train back to cusco. He helped print our physical tickets for MP and made sure we had everything necessary to get there. Facilities and beds pretty clean. Only complaint I had were the dogs barking and people talking outside at 2am.
Julio at the front desk it is an excellent person and very knowledgeable one, he tell you what to do ,how to and best choices for you as what you are looking for, that information gave me the chance to see myself in the big picture to enjoy the most of what I expected
Healthy nice breakfast offered even an very early times to give the guest a chance to go up to machupicchu very early with a good meal on it.
The best asset they have it is the personal
We stayed for two nights around our trip to Macchu Pichu. The breakfast was basic and uninspiring, and the wifi was somewhat iffy, plus they change the password daily. Very early checkout time too. There are no elevators, so be prepared for stairs, but it isn't a super tall building either. The room was lovely and very comfortable, but somewhat noisy from the stairway because our bathroom had a vent window onto it and everything echoes off the tile, but when we closed the door it was better.
I stayed at the Kantu Inn during my visit to Machu Picchu. The hotel is not a great value for the money they charge, but everything is more expensive in Aguas Calientes, so it's about par. Wifi is pretty slow. The breakfast was VERY basic. I've had much better breakfasts in Peruvian hotels that cost far less. They could improve in this area. It is convenient to restaurants and transportation, but the town is very small so everything is conveniently located. They met me at the train station, which was nice, but didn't have a room ready for me even though I was pretty much at their check-in time.
Nothing unpleasant or unexpected happened. The hotel was what could be expected for the price. The staff was pleasant. They waited for us at the train station, and took us to the hotel.
This hotel was great. They treated us wonderful. Spoke great English. Told us how to get to the bus station to get our Machu Picchu and the ticket office. The rooms were clean, the bedding was comfortable, breakfast was nice. We loved our stay here and would stay here again. It is super close to everything maybe 5 minute walk from train station if you don't get lost. :)
Staff is very friendly and helpful . Only complaint I have is that there was active construction happening during the day. It was impossible to rest in the room before 5 pm.
Travelled with my Dad and we both loved this place. I am not a luxurious traveler and when booking I opted for a median priced hotel to save money. It was far above anything I expected. Two wonderful ladies from the hotel met us at the train and chatted and walked us to the hotel.
The owners were nice and caring and gave us great advice on things to do and see in the area on top of the obvious. Friendly and genuine. The rooms were nice and clean. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Direct tv. The included breakfast was freshly cooked after you sat; with rolls and coffee/tea and a fresh cut bowl of fruit.
The town is small, you can walk from end to end in 5 mins. The hotel is off to the side of the "main strip" but is meaningless. The good part too is that the surrounding area isn't in the main touristy area so cheaper convenience stores, restaurants and significantly cheaper laundry service. Laundry on the main strip is 10 soles/kg and around the corner from hotel was 3 soles/kg.
Other FYIs: My review is based on what we received compared to the price we paid. In that regard, it was great. Just like all of Peru, the wifi isn't lightning fast. You won't be sending movies home but you can text via any apps. The shower water isn't burning hot but its warm and just fine. The room was spotless and clean. None of our things were moved or touched when we returned. The owners were great. The breakfast was fantastic.
We stayed at this hotel from January 01 - 03, 2016. The hotel location is very near with bus and rail station. Surrounding with restaurant, cafe/bar and market. All service is very very good ***** ( five star ). The owner and staff was very helpfull when give their best service. Will stay back again at this hotel, for our next travelling to Machu Picchu.
A basic hotel ideal for visiting Machu Picchu. We were met at the station by the owner which made the place easy to find. The rooms are very basic, with decent Wifi. Breakfast is very basic. Staff very friendly.
Christian was great, showed us and took us to get all tickets . was there for all of our answers and storing luggage. Etc
Nice hotel. Basically no wifi. Service was not great.
