Amazing
Pros:

Check in was very smooth and was checked in by Carlie and Megan and they greeted me with a very warm welcome especially as a lone female. I will be returning.

Friendly staff
Pros:

We didn't stay, but I popped in to find out how much it would cost for some family to stay over the Xmas period. Some friends recommend this hotel and thought we would pop in and ask.
Megan on reception was very helpful.

A little disappointing, never had problems here in the past
Pros:

We have stayed many times at this hotel when visiting family. This time was disappointing, which we discussed with reception.
The room smelt damp, the bed sheets on the sofa bed had mould spots on, there were damp patches on the walls and the carpet smelt damp. We highlighted it as we wondered if there was a leak in the bathroom that has gone unnoticed for some time - it felt like the room hadn’t been used for a while (was a bit dusty and cobwebs on the ceiling, though it was the night after Halloween I don’t think they were intended to be spooky!).
Reception were very pleasant when we highlighted the problems although it was on our check out. We are due to stay over the Xmas period and if we were placed in this room or one similar it would feel like Xmas is spoiled.
A few issues to be addressed, but I am also aware it’s about 10 years since the last refurb- it’s got to be due again imminently.

Wouldn't stay there again.
Pros:

You can hear people from the floor above., walking around. This unfortunately woke me up on the first morning at 6:50 am. The nose went on for ages.
I did go to reception and enquire if the same people would be there for my next morning I was assured they wouldn't but the next morning I again heard really creaky floorboards again early in the morning, for a while.
The restaurant food wasn't very nice. Dry chewy ribs.
The staff at the hotel and restaurant were friendly however.

Pros:

This is a terrible hotel to stay in!
There is no A/C, It was unbearably hot. We had fan running and temperature in the room was 30 deg C. We had to checkout after 2 days instead of 3 days booked.

We request a refund of one days for the two rooms booked. We are yet to receive a refund.

Good clean Premier Inn
Pros:

When you are greeted with a smile from the receptionist on arrival you know you are off to a good start. We found the room we were allocated to be clean and tidy and we slept very well on the Hypnos mattress! For the money, Premier Inns are a great place to stay and we found this one to be very good. Huge car park which also supplies parking for the Haywain Beefeater next door. Will defo stay here again if in this area.

Not the best Premier Inn
Pros:

The wifi speed is appalling, despite requesting a room clean on a certain day it hadn't been so I had to make do with additional towels instead, the Beefeater is very very expensive and closes early, the lobby vending machine is out of order, breakfast service very slow

Does the job.
Pros:

Great location as it's easy to find - ample car parking and easy check in and out. Staff friendly and professional , room clean and bed comfortable. Only downside was the road noise but that's not the hotels fault.
The shower was powerful and refreshing.

Poor
Pros:

Room was worn and dismall, noise from floor above creaking meant no sleep. Stayed here in the past no problems but now seems run down. Used to walk into a nice clean crisp room with the purple runner across the bed. Now looks like a child made it and a worn sofa bed dumped in the corner.

Basic but clean and comfortable
Pros:

Room is basic but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and courteous, check in and and check out was seamless. Bed is a standard PI bed, so comfortable. Ample car park is adjacent to the hotel and restaurant, although do remember that you need to register car at the hotel reception. All in all, a great stay as usual at this hotel.

Great Premier Inn
Pros:

The room was large and felt comfortable as a Premier Inn should. Bed is always first class. My bathroom had a bath where some have showers, and thus was preferable for me. Staff at reception were brilliant and very welcoming. The Beefeater next door does great food and has friendly service. I feel reassured going back.

Would not recommend
Pros:

This premier inn is tired and in need of complete refurbishment.
The grounds are scruffy with weeds and dead plants laying around the entrance to the hotel and restaurant along with cigarette ends. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The restaurant is not attractive with dark colours and tired stained and dirty furnishings. The toilets smelled of urine.
There was no coffee machine on the second morning of our stay but no discount offered for this.
I would not recommend this hotel. Very disappointed!

Happy visitors
Pros:

Chose this hotel as it was the closest hotel to an area I wanted to visit to beach comb for my art business. So it was a kind of work and pleasure trip because I love what I do.

Hotel was easy to access, great parking, staff were friendly, room was huge and comfy. Enough room in there to do my morning workout routine, always a bonus for me. Lovely bath which I took full advantage of!

All the staff we engaged with were friendly and welcoming. The food next door was great, so nice to not have to think about cooking for a short while. I'm vegetarian (I know boo!) but I felt well catered for and the service was quick and efficient and again all members of the team were friendly and accommodating.

The beach we visited was epic so I feel we will be back again later this year!

Easy to find on main A13. Was in a room facing A13 and you could hear traffic but faintly.

Comfort at an affordable Price
Pros:

Great hotel, very quiet and comfortable, good location just off the A13 but no traffic noise, very handy for getting in to Southend to see a show. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast in the Beefeater next door. Plenty of free parking spaces.
