The location was great and the host Amir is very friendly and responsive. The room was fine, had a good bed, bedside tables and huge closet and dresser. There are 3 rooms in the house, we had the largest room, but the other rooms were pretty good as well.
The breakfast is very basic: toast or bagels with jam, peanut butter or nutella, coffee and tea. It would be nice if the room had a lamp on each bedside table. This is not something I didn't like, but something that could make it a little bit better.
The host brought in a loaf, some jam and cream cheese for breakfast - a really nice touch, & v welcome. It's a charming, cottage-type house with a big deck out back over a half-wild garden. My room (1 of 3) was large and comfortable, the living room and kitchen are hospitable and have a good, lived-in feel. It's only 20-30 minutes' walk thro a pleasant, quiet neighborhood to the river, and the striking Esplanade Riel footbridge to the Museum of Human Rights. Ideal all round.

The host
The pictures are NOT what it seems. There is a very strong smell. The property is not what is advertised.
The room was large, the bed was comfortable and the hosts were incredibly welcoming. Check-in was easy, the hosts were very responsive and checked in to make sure I had everything I need. There was a heat wave during my visit, but the AC worked quite well. The location is also lovely, in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 25 minute walk to the Forks through some nice parks and along the river. A shared bathroom isn't always fun, but I never had any issues (always clean and available when I needed it). If you don't mind staying in someone's home (with a very kind family), then this place is super worth it for the price.
I would have preferred a lock on my bedroom door for the peace of mind when I left during the day (the hosts are wonderful and I felt totally comfortable in their home, but you never know who the other guests are). But some of the other rooms seemed to have locks so that option might be available for other rooms at this location.

Locking room door a little tricky
I had a great stay here for a business trip. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The host was exceptionally kind and welcoming, always responsive and happy to help with anything I needed. Communication was smooth throughout, and I really appreciated how attentive and accommodating they were. On top of that, the price was very affordable for the quality of the stay, the location is very convenient, within 10 mins walk to grocery, bus station, restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay again.
