Un immense merci à Julie, Rehema, Diana et Selena, qui ont véritablement contribué à rendre notre séjour encore plus exceptionnel. ❤️
Leur bonne humeur, leurs sourires et leur gentillesse ont vraiment fait la différence au quotidien. Une petite mention toute particulière à Rehema, pour qui j’ai eu un immense coup de cœur : une personne adorable, pleine d’humour, qui a réussi à nous faire rire et sourire tout au long de notre séjour. 🥰

Nous repartons avec des souvenirs merveilleux de ce séjour à couper le souffle. Les chambres sont magnifiques, l’hôtel est absolument splendide, la plage est paradisiaque et l’ensemble du personnel est d’une gentillesse incroyable. Tout était réuni pour passer un séjour inoubliable.
La nourriture est également excellente, avec beaucoup de choix et une belle variété de plats.
Nous avons réservé toutes nos activités directement avec l’hôtel et nous n’avons absolument pas été déçus. Tout était parfaitement organisé, du chauffeur jusqu’aux activités elles-mêmes. Une organisation irréprochable du début à la fin !

Wunderschönes Hotel
Liegt ein bisschen außerhalb
Wat een heerlijk hotel! Het is niet heel groot (ongeveer 30 kamers), maar ruim opgezet. Met 2 zwembaden en meer dan voldoende bedjes, is er altijd een fijn plekje om te relaxen. De kamers zijn nieuw en ruim en erg schoon. Zo wordt er naast “de reguliere” schoonmaak ook ‘s avonds nog een keer gesprayd tegen muggen. Dan wordt ook gecheckt of je er nog een nieuwe fles water nodig is.
Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam, zo kreeg ik vanwege een allergie voor ananas ‘s ochtends bij bet ontbijt een apart bord met fruit, zonder daarom te vragen! Je kunt sowieso goed terecht voor zowel lunch als avondeten!
De massages zijn uitstekend evenals de gym. Ook de hotelshuttle was meer dan goed geregeld.
Echt een aanrader!!
Voor ons geen minpunten. Maar mocht je een hotel zoeken in een wat drukker gebied, met veel reuring, vind je Matemwe waarschijnlijk te rustig

El hotel está construido de tal manera (una L alrededor de la piscina) que da la sensación de que todas las habitaciones están muy cerca unas de otras. Esto puede venir bien para tener a los niños controlados desde la habitación, pero para parejas habría buscado otra cosa.
La comida del hotel no me pareció que tuviese "value for money", los precios eran elevados vs el otro hotel que estuvimos en Zanzibar. Fuimos todas las veces a los restaurantes de por fuera que estaban buenisimos!

Unfortunately, our experience was a perfect demonstration of how a hotel can turn a simple booking into an unnecessarily stressful and disappointing experience.
We had a confirmed and fully prepaid three-night reservation. At the last minute, the hotel cancelled it, despite having already received the payment.
The explanation was repeatedly reduced to “Booking.com’s fault.” We have been using Booking.com for more than 15 years and have travelled extensively around the world through the platform. We had never encountered anything remotely similar. Of course, problems can happen. What matters is how a hotel chooses to deal with them. Unfortunately, taking responsibility did not seem to be part of the solution here.
Instead, we were asked to pay again for the same room for the first two nights, at a higher rate than our original booking. For the third night, we were expected to move to a standard room despite having originally booked another room.
Because our transportation and diving activities had already been organised around this hotel, we were effectively left with very little choice but to accept this arrangement. Our original payment was then left tied up with Booking.com for 12 days, meaning that we had to absorb the financial consequences of a problem that was not ours.
The compensation offered for all of this was particularly impressive: one extra hour of check-out.
Yes, one hour.
The check-out time was already set at 10:00 AM, which is exceptionally early. In more than 15 years of travelling and staying in hotels around the world, we had never encountered such an early departure time. Considering the cancellation of a prepaid reservation, the higher price we had to pay, the room change for the third night, the money being blocked for 12 days and the disruption caused to our stay, this gesture felt almost symbolic rather than genuinely compensatory.
Unfortunately, this was not the only disappointment.
El hotel es precioso y está cuidado hasta el más mínimo detalle. Las habitaciones son espectaculares, muy amplias, cómodas y están decoradas con muchísimo gusto.
Todo el personal fue muy amable, pero queremos destacar especialmente la atención de Selina y Severine, del restaurante. Siempre fueron muy atentos, alegres y cercanos. Su energía y felicidad se transmitían constantemente y hacían que cada momento fuera todavía más agradable.
El gimnasio también nos sorprendió muy positivamente, ya que está muy bien equipado y tiene todo lo necesario para entrenar cómodamente. Además, cuenta con toallas, agua, ventiladores y aire acondicionado. Incluso hay un altavoz con Bluetooth para poder conectar tu música cuando estás solo, ¡un detalle que nos encantó!
Sin duda, una estancia fantástica en un hotel precioso, con unas instalaciones excelentes y, sobre todo, un equipo humano maravilloso.

Great staff and great location directly at the beach. Facilities are very nice to relax. We spent every night dining in the restaurant because outside options were not appealing to us but restaurant is great for a couple of nights.
Weird smell and ants in the toilet but that is acceptable for a beach hotel in Zanzibar.
I had a wonderful stay. The beach is beautiful, wide and very peaceful. The pools are large and very clean. My room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. A really nice place to relax and enjoy Zanzibar.
We had a really nice stay here. The room was comfortable, the food was good and the staff were always friendly. We liked the quiet atmosphere and the whole place felt very relaxed. Everything was easy from the moment we arrived.

We had an amazing stay at Clove Island in Matemwe! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally clean. The location is great, just a short walk from the beach.
The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also really appreciated the well-equipped gym.
Everything felt thoughtfully designed and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Clove Island to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing stay.
