It was a really cold night and hotel was cosy. Hotel
Room cold but extra heater was in room so heated up quickly!
The situation of the room! 212 out the window we could hear bottles being thrown into a bin! Much screaming, loud over the top laughing and shouting I think from the restraint ne t door.
Veru cheap especially considering the location. Staff were friendly and courteous.
Room was a bit tired and could use a touch up. Lights above the bed were loose. There was also a fair bit of dust and some cobwebs. But in fairness for the price you can't complain too much
Great Location
There's no on site parking but parking is available just up the road and is only £5 for 24 hours,
Good location and comfortable warm room
Breakfast items not changed so gave impression that what we were eating at 8.45 was put out at 7.30
Also dining room was freezing , other guests were also complaining
Reception area seemed dark and uninviting needs to be updated
Location is perfect especially if you are going to Eden Court.
Bed was comfortable with lovely bed linen. The bedroom was warm and was well furnished.
The receptionist in the red jumper who checked us in was not at all friendly or welcoming. We felt like we were inconveniencing her by interrupting what she was doing and forcing her to print off a sheet of paper for us to sign and handing us a keycard (exhausting)....however, other staff we met were quite pleasant..
The breakfast room was very chilly. It was very quiet which led to a subdued atmosphere along with the cold temperatures. Maybe a little background music and the heating turned up a notch or two would make the breakfast experience more enjoyable. 😉
Overall, Im mindful of the cost of heating such a big old building (especially considering the relatively small amout we paid)..but interfacing with guests at their first point of contact is totally free!! A few friendly words cost absolutely nothing and good a goes a long, long way!
Not much, quite poor facilities, in fact very disappointed in my double room, was a twin room with beds put together
My stay
Location breakfast and staff
It’s cold and tv signal so so
Warm, spacious and comfortable rooms an dgreat views to castle and river.
Breakfast was very poor. Coffee was not fresh, scrambled eggs too milky no flavour, deep fried tattie scones saturated with fat, concentrated OJ, granola far to sweet.
Bread was good though and fresh fruit was good and yoghurt.
Great location, good value, nice breakfast and friendly staff.
Double bed was obviously 2 twins pushed together and not the most comfortable.
Beautiful hotel,Beautiful view looking out to river but tree straight in front ruined the view to castle, room very cold but requested a heater an was in our room after been on a walk
Pillows very lumpy an room very cold 🥶
Cooked breakfast was nice but continental selection was poor
Staff member was fantastic
As stated above continental selection was poor
The staff and help they went too
