We absolutely LOVED our stay at Sophia Suites. We've read about Greek hospitality in advance and they more than proved that right. Upon arrival, we were kindly upgraded to a better room than we had booked. Our pool directly overlooked the stunning sunset and the room was absolutely charming. So charming that we spent more time at the hotel than we had previously planned to, because spending time there watching the sunset and eating breakfast at the deck and getting visits from the local stray cats were even nicer than the beautiful island itself. (Sidenote on the bed: I especially loved that it was one big mattress and one big blanket for two - better for cuddles than two separate blankets!) Breakfast was served in the room - either on the deck, or, very cozy, one day directly in bed on a tray. A dream!
The location was also completely perfect for us. Located in the small village of Imeroviglio it is located on the Caldera Footpath from Fira to Oia. Which means in both directions of that walk/hike, you could access everything beautifully basically without ever crossing paths with a car, and SUPER nice for walks at dusk at the most picturesque parts of the Caldera walk. The staff were always nice and so very helpful. When we had to change our travel plans spontaneously the staff were a huge relief with their assistance, as they offered us breakfast-to-go and a shuttle ride to the airport at a god-awful early hour in the morning when we hadn't planned to leave that early. Our stay was during the tail-end of the off-season, which meant a lot of nearby restaurants were still closed, however it ALSO meant that this usually so touristy island felt absolutely peaceful and remote. (and we still got a sunburn anyway!) On the hike to Oia you could hear the birds chirping but absolutely nothing else. And while many of the seasonal places were closed, the places that were open like the Taverna Simos closeby in Fira were those that felt like the heart of the island.
The view was amazing and we had a suite at the top of the stairs which made it less exhausting to walk up the steps every day. The room was nice and cool which helped to shield against the heat of the sun. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet as there were not many other guests in the hotel. It was amazing to wake up every day with the view of the ocean and the islands right from our bed. The rain shower was super comfortable and we loved the little reading/relax room by going down the stairs in our room. It was perfect for reading a book while enjoying the view.
The first negative surprise we had happened when we were shown the room. The plunge pool that was included in our booking was not cleaned and full of flies, the water was also cold. When asked about it, they said they could clean it for us and warm it up but they never did. This was a major negative point for us as we were really looking forward to using the plunge pull on our outside balcony with this amazing view. Also, due to the booking being out of season (we arrived in March), we were not informed that there was no breakfast or roomservice being served as the kitchen was closed. We also experienced constant repairs around us for the summer season and the fresh air was filled with the chemical stench of paint. Most of the city was also closed making everything feel a bit like a ghost town.

The staff was so accommodating and did everything within their power to make it an incredible trip. We loved the location of the suite and of course our beautiful view. The room itself was stunning, clean, and spacious, we cannot wait to come back

Our stay at Sophia Luxury Suites was truly unforgettable. We stayed in the Crypt Suite, which came with a private indoor pool a unique feature that added so much calm and comfort to our trip. Combined with the breathtaking views, it created the perfect atmosphere to unwind.
The staff made our experience even better. … helped us a lot. They were genuinely kind, always smiling, and ready to help with anything we needed. One detail we especially loved was the daily breakfast service: we could pre-order exactly what we wanted and choose the perfect time for delivery. Every morning, our breakfast arrived right on time not a minute late.
For anyone seeking true peace and relaxation in Santorini, I can recommend this place. It’s a beautiful escape you’ll remember long after you leave.
