Poor customer service
Pros:

We did not end up staying at Northwinds Hotel Canmore, but I feel it’s important to share our experience with their customer service.

A reservation was accidentally booked through Expedia for the wrong date. Within literally one minute of completing the booking, we contacted both Expedia and the hotel directly to correct it by shifting the stay one day later. This was not a cancellation request — simply a date change.

At the time, rooms were available for the correct date, so accommodating this change would not have resulted in any loss to the hotel. Despite this, the hotel refused to make the adjustment.

While policies are understandable, there should also be some level of reasonable flexibility when a genuine mistake is identified immediately. Unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of customer consideration.

Based on this interaction alone, I would be hesitant to book here again and would strongly advise others to double-check their dates carefully, as even immediate corrections may not be accommodated.

Good Hotel, but needs better soundproofing.
Pros:

I liked the convenient location and that they had no extra fees for pets.

Cons:

Soundproofing didn’t seem very good as you could lots of noise from people above you and doors slamming in hallways.

Cons:

Why do hotels put adults or those travelling alone in rooms below families? The jumping on the floor from above was ridiculous and constant.
