Superb location, really friendly staff, superbly comfortable
Views and location were incredible
Very dated decor
I got the Ocean front view, which is a little bit expensive but it’s the best. The room are well updated even the building is old, the lobby needs some upgrade. Restaurant is good. Location is good.
Lobby too simple
We love the Twin Fin! It is our second time staying there and definitely not our last. The location cannot be beat: walking distance to 3 excellent beaches, innumerable shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff makes you feel welcome and cared for. It's low key and cool with enough open space around to breath. Thank you!
Nothing
Very old and smelling building, worst management
The location is great
Third time staying here- love the location right across the road from the beach. Can also sit on the balcony and watch the sunsets, just beautiful.
The view was Amazing
The rooms definitely need doing up!! Carpet was horrible very warn out
清潔
歯ブラシやガウンなどない
Location is excellent,
Elevators are busy so there is a wait
This is not your typical polished beachfront Hawaiian hotel like many of the others along Kalākaua Avenue. The location is fantastic, but the property itself feels dated and the rooms are quite small — consistent with what many other reviewers have mentioned. This was our 3rd time to Honolulu and our 3rd hotel (previously stayed at Hyatt Regency and Hilton Waikiki)
The good:
The breakfast was genuinely good, and the staff working at the Coconut Club were consistently friendly and welcoming. The views from the breakfast area — and from our oceanfront room — were beautiful and easily the highlight of the stay.
The included beach equipment rentals through Beach Candy were a great perk and very convenient.
The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable.
The not-so-good:
The rooms feel tired and overdue for renovation.
You can also hear every time a neighboring door closes as they slam shut loudly.
Beach towels were never stocked on the racks — we had to ask the front desk every time, and it felt like an inconvenience to them.
The elevators were a major frustration. They use a system where you scan your key and are assigned an elevator, which sounds efficient in theory. In reality, they were frequently slow and even out of service during our five-day stay. At times it tried to cram 15–20 people into one elevator, and other times we waited close to 10 minutes.
One night in the middle of the night, the intercom ordered everyone to evacuate using the stairs. It turned out someone had been smoking in their room, but it created a chaotic and stressful situation.
I booked through Costco, which meant I did not have to pay the mandatory $46 daily resort fee and breakfast was included. Without those perks, this stay would have felt like a significant letdown for the price.
Overall, it was a very average stay. The views and location are great, but the dated rooms and operational issues outweigh that for me. I would choose to stay elsewhere next time.
I had a very frustrating experience with this hotel due to poor communication and lack of professionalism.
I booked my stay through Expedia and accidentally canceled my reservation. When I contacted Expedia to see if anything could be done, they told me I would need to speak directly with the hotel. I did so and explained the situation, and the hotel told me that my reservation was still active However, on Expedia’s end, it continued to show as canceled.
Because of the conflicting information, I wanted to double‑check to avoid showing up and having issues at check‑in. I spent the entire day trying to contact someone at the hotel, dealing with numerous dropped calls and unanswered attempts. I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager to explain what was going on, but they refused to transfer me.
Expedia was very kind and even tried to contact the hotel manager themselves to help resolve the issue, but the hotel was unresponsive. Overall, the way this was handled felt careless and unprofessional, and honestly a bit sketchy since they already received a full payment.
In the end, I had no choice but to book another hotel to avoid any further issues. I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere.
The room, the location
Amazing breakfast, room service and location

Horrible experience, unsanitary rooms and hotel. Slapping a layer of paint on rusted metal and detoriated wood, doesn't make this a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was not cleaned on arrival and items from a previous guest were still in the room and toilet. The front desk was often unattended and phones went unanswered. A night fire alarm caused an evacuation with little communication and long delays returning to rooms. Despite leaving early because of the room condition, I was still charged for the night, and the credit card hold remained for over seven days after checkout. Additional unclear fees were added during the stay, and I was told that even using a small rice cooker in the room to prepare food for my child could trigger a $500+ “vaping” fee. I recommend reading recent reviews carefully before booking!
