After I asked for an upgrade, we got a decent room
The first room we were looking at the parking lot, and the room was tiny, we couldn't even get the cart in far enough to unload for ,4 people,so I asked for an upgrade
We liked the location of hotel & the room with a view of the river was nice. Pool & hot tub were nice also.
Pet fee of $75.00 for 1 night is too high. It's usually $25.00 per night.
A staff member at breakfast was rude to my husband and to my cousins husband. It was reported by both of them but nothing was said or done to resolve the issue.

The location was excellent
The hotel was doing a remodel so there were many construction workers in the hallways the entire day and of course they were making a lot of noise because they were doing a job they were hired for. What I have a problem with is that we were not informed of this when booking the room. It does make it a bit less relaxing. I didn’t book the room because it was the cheapest, it wasn’t, I booked it because we have always been able to trust Hampton. This felt like a corporate money grab

Beautiful rooms. Clean, amazing views! Incredible breakfast. Pool and fitness room are incredible.
It was clean and parking was good.
Just having paper coffee cups and no actual glassware in the room seems cheap.
The free breakfast needs help. I had it Tuesday through Friday and the only thing that changed was the shape of the slimy sausage and the flavor of the egg patty.
For the price of the room I expected a little bit better.

Hot Breakfast was not what I expected. Cheap powdered scrambled eggs and hard sausage patties. I always seem to get placed below the person who spends all evening hard walking back and forth in their room.

The hotel mismanaged our reservations, and ended up charging us far more than we anticipated, much more than is advertised on Trip Advisor and similar sites. The front desk staff were inexperienced and unable to help us with the botched reservation. The breakfast was mediocre and the coffee weak. Despite liking Astoria, we will never go there again and are telling friends and family never to go there either.

A pretty property right on the river that seems to be clean and quiet. The first room we were checked into had a broken thermostat with a blank screen. It probably only needs new batteries, The front desk clerk told us no maitenance person is on site. He moved us to a king suite (larger room) where we found that the television isn't working. He offered to move us a third time, but enough is enough. Also, no fault of the hotel, but the seals in the harbor are very noisy. I'm usually satisfied with the Hampton chain, but this one is a disappointment.
