Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but we had a fabulous time at Kalimera Village. If you go expecting a traditional Greek home with lots of character you will not be disappointed.
This is such a welcoming, relaxing place to be. The pool was great, view from the balcony was lovely, enough equipment in the kitchen to get by but so many restaurants in a 5 min radius and the food at a good price. Supermarkets 5 mins away....down the hill. Slow and steady and it was fine getting up it. Loved our holiday at Kalimera Village!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kalimera Village. We were looking for smaller (number of rooms, rather than size of rooms), traditional accommodation in the hope that we would get a more personal and authentic experience. Kalimera was perfect. We stayed with our 2 teenage (tall) children and were in one of the rooms yet to be renovated. It suited us perfectly, it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two balconies, it was plenty big enough for us all. It was basic but very clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms had air-conditioning at no extra cost and the apartment was cleaned every other day. We used the pool on most days and quite often had it to ourselves. We booked for Bed and Breakfast, and each morning the lovely Kosta provided us with a fabulous breakfast, with the bonus of an amazing view overlooking the sea. Kostas and Anna really made a difference to our stay, they were both so welcoming and accommodating. Kalimera is just a short walk from the restaurants and bars of Piskopiano with a large selection of good quality options to choose from. The closest restaurant is about a three-minute walk away (Kostas Taverna - well worth a visit, lovely people and lovely food) and the spa at the bottom of the hill is great for all the basics and lovely fresh salads, rolls and pastries too. We couldn't fault our stay; we loved it and did not want to leave - we hope to come back again one day.

We stayed at Kalimera Village for 13 nights. Had a lovely stay and would return in the future! We stayed comfortably in the classic apartment. The room was basic but had everything we needed. It was cleaned every two days, with fresh bedding and towels. We were surprised to have shower gel provided due to it being self-catering. The safe and air-con were also free, which was an added bonus. We were surprised with how many bars and restaurants were nearby (5 min walk). There is a whole street full with many cuisines. The only downside was the wifi which only worked in the kitchen area and poolside. Also, the walk up from Hersonissos was painful! The hill was unbelievably steep! 20 minute walk minimum, but we found we didn’t need to go down that often due to many food places near by.

Spent 2 weeks here in July, superb location on a quiet street in Piskopiano, Anna welcomed us along with Kosta and we were taken to our room, brilliant room with an upstairs, balcony with amazing view, plenty of storage, air con and a comfy bed, downstairs has a kitchen with a kettle provided and a little stove, fridge, table & chairs, the front room had a sofa ( can use as a sofa bed) a tv and another balcony, it’s a really lovely place to stay. You can have breakfast on the roof terrace made by Kosta, delicious omelets, cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses all very tasty. The villages piskopiano & Koutalafari are just a couple of minutes down the road. I would definitely stay here again we had no issues at all just a perfect stay ❤️

Very nice apartments that have a rustic feel in a really nice location. We booked these apartments for a few nights before onward journey elsewhere in Crete. We would usually always stay by the coast but it was very nice staying up the hill and in the villages and the small pool is perfect to keep you cool. The owner showed lots of hospitality and the breakfast is simple but nice too. There are lots of very good restaurants near by and would recommend exploring the near by villages at night. We had a great time and hope to return next year. Would recommend for value for money.

Incredible host, named Kosta, has given us the best service, breakfast etc, very childfriendly , rooms were very nice, clean, basic, super nice sea view , it was our first time but definitely not the last , thank you so much for giving us a wonderfull holiday , swimming pool was also very nice, my 5 year old had the best time!! Nearby a lot of nice restaurants and a supermarket, for me it was 10/10 ! :)

We liked everything. We have been here for many times.

Just got back from a restful week at Kalimera Village. We had always fancied staying here as it seemed so quiet and Anna had shown us round on two previous occasions. First the good: cleaning is probably the best we have come across. Bed changed every other day and apartment cleaned top to bottom. Air conditioning is free, which is very rare these days. Anna genuinely does her best to ensure that you have an enjoyable holiday. Views from most of the apartments are superb. I should also mention that every apartment is different- no ticky-tacky boxes here! The dog, Canello, is friendly but fails as a guard dog due to his age-17! We only had the breakfast one morning as we don’t normally have breakfast on holiday but it was wholesome and reasonably priced. Towels for the pool are free and are of excellent quality.
Points of concern: we were the only Brits for the whole week which didn’t bother us but solo travellers might get a bit lonely. The clientele were mostly Dutch. We had the smallest room which would have comfortably slept four. The rooms are generous but this does attract groups of teenagers.

All in all we had a wonderful time.

Would we return? - can’t wait!

Everything was was great. Vera was very helpful and accommodating. Property was great and convenient to tavernas and shopping

I used loveholidays online to book flights, transfers & accommodation as a/ it worked out less expensive & b/ it gave you more options than package holiday agents online such as Tui or Jet2 so this brought up this property & many others in the villages of Piskopiano & Koutouloufari. I had the benefit of staying at the Asterias Village last year so I knew roughly where these apartments would be & yes as others have said they are not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. It's a steepish slope to get up & down & multiple steps at the property, depending on where you are. It was 52 steps to room 9, I counted them!

That said because we were so high, we had the best views over the whole area & it was amazing, day or night & to wake up to that view from where you sleep - bliss!

We did tell the owner, Anna, that we would be late getting in & it became later & later as our flight was delayed about an hour or so & then our shared transfer took about an hour & then we were dropped off at the bottom of Piskopiano & had to walk up! We managed to find our way & as requested rang the doorbell & we were shown to our apartment by the night manager who also gave us a bottle of water each but yep we made it!

I would say anyone booking with love holidays take the private taxi transfer option both ways if you stay here as only a car or small van will get up these hills!
We stayed in an apartment that could actually sleep 6 so it had a downstairs, with no air con & an upstairs with 2 bedrooms. Also 2 balconies. We just lived out of our cases downstairs as our dressing room & slept upstairs in the double room. As already stated, the apartments are basic but clean. Towels & bedding are provided/changed every other day & we enjoyed staying there. It wasn't an upgraded bathroom & it would be great to go there again & get an upgraded one as the shower curtain was quite annoying but the water was great for pressure & we had all the facilities we needed included free wi fi.

We had the sun in the morning on the balcony so it was very easy to relax there of a morning with a cuppa & sunbathe. There is a small pool across the road which was nice with an honesty bar & we used that a few times. Sometimes just having it for ourselves.

Anna the owner was very accommodating indeed & rang taxis for us & we were able to secure our apartment for a late checkout with no trouble at all. We were packed off with a bottle of water each

Great welcome by the owner on the late night arrival and she was very accommodating in arranging an airport pick up.
The location is amazing with very nice views down to the Sea. Only a short walk from Old Hersonissos one direction and to Koutouloufari in the other, but in the traditional village of Piskopiano. All three are beautiful.
The room was very basic, air con upstairs but not downstairs. We had a balcony on both floors, but one had damaged wooden spindles which we felt nervous about, having got 2 young children. We believe we had one of the older rooms as the newer rooms in the photos looked lovely.
Bed was very comfy, cleaners daily and did an OK job.
You must be reasonably fit to stay here as its situated on a steep hill with lots of steps to access the rooms.
The hotel has strict timelines around noise. The hotel owner addressed me in front of the entire pool in a very aggressive manner about noise and an apparent baby nappy that had been left poolside. I tried to go later to apologise for this oversight and misunderstanding, but she was even more aggressive and threatened to throw us out of the hotel for one more indiscretion. We therefore felt very uncomfortable and had to minimise our stay in the hotel, ensuring we left the area at the quiet time (in our group there were 5 children altogether, there was no chance of quiet!)
The breakfast at the hotel is really nice and the two younger staff were very pleasant allowing us to keep our prams in their store room which helped massively.
We probably wouldn't return as a family, we think the hotel is nice but is aimed towards couples or older families who like peace and quiet.

We booked this accommodation as our usual apartments were not available and we liked the idea of a 2 bedroom apartment as we have a teen.
Kalimera is in a wonderful position above the church in Piscopiano providing amazing views. These are not at all suitable for people with mobility issues but we enjoyed the extra walk to work up an appetite.
We were greeted warmly by the lovely owner Anna the amazing couple working for her this summer, Justina and Roddy. I can not praise the work ethic and professionalism of them enough, they are an asset for anyone to have working for them. They provide a fantastic breakfast, amazing value but I felt bad for wasting food as there was so much!
Roddy also prepares prefect cocktails, taking pride in all he does.
The apartment was very spacious, cool, quiet and comfortable, dated but clean . Pleasant pool area , nice mix of all ages and nationalities staying. Both bathrooms would benefit from an upgrade, I was shown one of the refurbished rooms and they have fabulous bathrooms, would pay extra for such a room if we return.
With a little investment, these really could be a hidden gem, I would happily return .

What a wonderful place to stay we only stayed one night wished it was more.when we arrived we were greeted and shown around our apartment which was a traditional Greek apartment .little steps down to the lounge with a terrace.modern bathroom nicely equipped kitchen. Then stairs up to a huge bedroom with a large balcony with wonderful views.air con was included .and we were told we could check out anytime the next day.

Le gerant est tres gentil et serviable , il nous a attendu malgré notre retard a l'arrivée et nous a offert des bouteilles deau fraîche.
Le petit dejeuner avec vue sur la mer est tres bon et copieux .
L'appartement spacieux et propre .

L'établissement est remarquablement situé, sur les hauteurs, dans un village calme et accueillant. Les propriétaires sont charmants, l'accueil et le service impeccables. La chambre que nous louions était grande, propre, avec une belle terrasse vue sur la mer. Un régal. Nous recommandons vivement!
