Top notch hotel!

Notre séjour s'est très bien passé. L'hôtel est vraiment top et le service y est irréprochable. Le buffet pour le dîner est très bon et change souvent. la plage de l'hôtel est parmi les plus belles de l'île. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir!!

We stayed at Gold Zanzibar for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! We booked a garden villa and it was so spacious, and the private plunge pool was very fun to have. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our butler, Jackeline, was so helpful and friendly! They also gifted us a bottle of champagne and fruit on our arrival which was so nice. There are shows with dinner every night which are really wonderful, and the buffet options are PHENOMENAL! We had a full body wrap and massage at the spa which was lovely, and went on a spice tour and sunset dhow cruise organized through the hotel which were fabulous! The hotel also gifted us a private romantic dinner on the beach and the sunset dhow cruise as honeymoon gifts which was very generous. The beach is beautiful, and it is so nice to have the private cabanas as where the public portion of the beach starts can be a bit hectic and crowded. Highly recommend staying here!

One of the best hotels I have ever been to. Truly a 5-starr experience from the food, the staff, and the room. I have been to many 5 star hotels and indeed this is one of the best ones.

Beach, pool, dinning, and overall amenities were absolutely amazing. Staff were top notch as well! Hated to leave and will certainly look at staying there again!

Nice hotel with a good location on a large sand beach which is also quiet busy and lot of people coming to see you to sell you stuff as soon as you go towards the water.
The services are complete, the food was quite good.
Still expensive for what it is. For half the price of a classic room with garden we managed to stay in a villa with private pool sea view and very high standards.

Was expecting a nice experience based on the type of beachfront room we selected. Both of our butlers were extremely helpful including Salim helping me discourage my extremely stubborn gf (who can’t swim!) from taking a kayak out on a very windy and wave filled day. She was not listening to me at all - and his assistance was above and beyond.

Additionally, Anthony, the restaurant staff, facilities and especially the food was outstanding! Far exceeded our expectations. Having been in the sales and marketing business I have attended my share of buffet style meals. Every night GB treated us to something different and delicious. You won’t want/need to eat anywhere else!

Last add. I don’t drink alcohol but I’m a bit addicted to zero sugar Coca-Cola. I asked for the mini bar to stock them up a bit. Every day we were there included 3-4 extras. Never needed to ask again.

And try the hibiscus iced tea. Out of this world!

Gold är ett mycket fint och välskött hotell. Det är byggt 2013 men är fortfarande i mycket gott skick.¨
Trevlig vänlig personal och mycket bra fräsch mat i båda restaurangerna.

Allt är fem stjärnor; enda plumpen i protokollet är att gymmet saknar tre par hantlar; 3, 4 och 5 kg. Det är de mest användbara hantlarna för de flesta motionärer, de riktigt stora atleterna oräknade

Jag påtalade detta första dagen och tänkte att de skulle ordna det under vår sex dagars långa vistelse men så var inte fallet. Jag kan tycka att ett högklassigt hotell skall ta höjd för att saker försvinner och se till att ha reservutrustning

Stranden är fin, om du skall ta en långpromenad så gå till höger men se till att inte gå när det är högvatten för då kan du inte komma förbi Rio Hotell eftersom vattnet då täcker ca 200-300 meter av stranden. Väl förbi så kan du gå ända upp till Nungwi Beach. Vi promenerade ca 3 km norrut innan vi vände tillbaka. Promenera är skönt före 10 och efter 17, dess emellan; olidigt varmt, då är det skuggan som gäller.

Två saker som vi funderar över; varför städar inte lokalbefolkningen på stränder och längs vägar?
Vad gör alla unga massajer på stränderna, kan de inte ta ett vanligt arbete eller i brist på det, städa stränderna, jag skulle alla dagar i veckan hellre betala för det än att köpa diverse souvenirer?

Das Hotel an sich ist wirklich sehr schön und gepflegt. Der Strand ist traumhaft und man hat wirklich viel Platz. Die Sonnenliegen sind relativ weit auseinander.
Das Zimmer war auch groß und alles funktionierte, 1 - 2 mal am Tag gab es einen kurzen Stromausfall, daran gewöhnt man sich.
Das WLAN funktioniert nicht immer und überall, es kam zu größeren Ausfällen. Wenn man darauf geschäftlich darauf angewiesen ist, hat man ein Problem.
Das Essen war sehr gut, vor allem das frische Obst und Gemüse. Es gab jeden Tag frischen Fisch und afrikanische Spezialitäten.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich, vor allem Paolo, der uns sehr gut betreut hat. Manchmal wurde es uns das obligatorische Jambo von jedem Angestellten schon fast zu viel.
Was uns nach 5-6 Tagen extrem gestört hat, waren die lauten „Darbietungen“ am Strand. Dazu kam noch der Lärm von den Nachbarhotels rechts und links.
Das Hotel liegt relativ weit weg vom Flughafen. Man muss sich auf einen Transfer von mind. 1,5 Stunden einstellen, obwohl es „nur“ ca. 60 km sind.

Resort itself is excellent and clean within the compound. Buffet menu changes all the time and offers plenty of varieties with many cooking stations. Staff was very friendly and considerate, and managers came around and greeted us everyday. They noted from registration that my daughter's birthday was coming up so they decorated a special table with blue beads just for us. There were plenty of activities and nightly entertainment. Our suites were very spacious and layout showcases local architecture. Overall we are very happy with our experience.

Food was excellent, and the theme nights were enjoyable. Pool was great and beach area was beautiful. The unit we booked was not available at check in, due to a plumbing issue--the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the less expensive unit we received. Money was refunded to me. The best part of this resort experience was the service and genuine desire each staff member had to make us feel welcome.

A wonderful welcome, very friendly staff and the quality and variety of the food was amazing and beyond our expectations much credit to chef Sunil and his team

High security , excellent staff service and friendliness. Food buffet with good quality and changed themes during the week. Spa with a good range of treatments. Hotel have their own vegetable growing.
