FuZhuang Hotel

Friendly staff. Plenty of hot water. Building is of an older style. Climb the stairs from the street to reach lobby/ elevator. Tea kettle, teabags, fridge. There's a sauna inside the hotel room but I did not try it.

Quiet yet near to main shopping area.

Staff at the hotel were amazing. They were all very nice and extremely helpful.

On the day of our flight, the manager helped bring all of our suitcases down to the taxi and even gave us some drinks and snacks because she was worried that we didn’t have time to have breakfast.

This was a very old hotel. The room was very large and very clean. It is located in a safe area and walking distance yo shopping, restaurants and the metro. The staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Old building, the air conditioner is not functioning very well, the stuff is smelly.

It was a nice, comfortable room. The shower head was positioned much too low, and it really just has a tub instead of a shower. It also did not have AC but did have a fan.

Our first impression was pretty negative. The room we got smelled like cigerattes, we felt there was no AC. However when we went to the front desk, they gave us a different room immediately and showed us how to turn on AC. The condition of the building wasn't great, and hard to locate the entrance but their service by far made for it. Initially hotels.com allowed me to book the hotel only for 3 nights. However by contacting property directly they assured me I could stay another night, and it was hassle free when I checked in.

Location is amazing. You basically walk opposite and end up in Ximending Walking Street where all the happening things are. We were able to give them our clothes for laundry, and they delivered clean clothes in a nice bag to our room. Housekeeping was exceptional, and was very clean everyday. Amenities were appropriate. The front desk also helped change currency for us in small amounts. When I asked for luggage repair service as flight damaged my bag, they volunteered to give me one of their own suitcases.

They booked an airport taxi for us at same rate as Uber at 6 am, but the front desk guy helped us take down the luggage and put it in the cab. Overall the initial look is not cleanest, and there is some smoking odor in the lobby despite being non-smoking facility but if you can get a nice room their service is exceptional and rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

It was a nice stay. Very close to the xmd subway station. Close to the xmd district. The front counter people are very nice and friendly. Will stay here again

Very much enjoyed my stay at Food Chang Hotel as a matter of fact I was there for three days and then I went out of town and came back and book the same room the sauna and the rooms are incredible the staff are amazing I got my laundry done everything was good I had no problem with the area I felt very safe there very much enjoyed it

Room was not as represented in the photos though staff were friendly.

Hotel is at the furthest end from commending area, amongst motor workshops and next to major highway

The hotel is looking a little tired. It needs updating. Staff are really friendly and location is good. Please note: lift access is only available on second floor. So you have two flights of stairs before you get to reception

Very Bad smell in the room even change to the new room with free upgrade and no bath tub in the room that we stay.

A bit old but very clean and excellent service from the staff. Very convenient location, easy to get to MRT station.

AC is just a button for ON and OFF but it kept a really comfortable temperature during our stay (late November).

The door wasn’t very sturdy at all and if someone wanted to enter I’m sure they would be able to without much force. The reception seems to be manned 24/7 though so I doubt that anyone would find the opportunity to enter unnoticed. We brought our most valuable stuff whenever we left the room and locked our bags to a chair for some extra peace of mind.

The location is really good, even with the 10-15 minutes walk to the subway. It’s just across the street from the liveliest streets in Ximending but still far away enough to not be disturbed by the masses of people.

The elevator is at the first floor, where you’ll also find the reception, so if you can’t walk the two flights you should look elsewhere. All in all we’re really happy with our stay and will most likely return next time we’re in Taipei.
