Comfortable Hotel Downtown
Pros:

New Mwanza Hotel was ideal for my two days stay downtown. It's not overly fancy but rooms are comfortable and clean. Restaurant food was had a good variety with tasty Indian dishes. It was an ideal location in the center of town, but is unfortunately has a dance club on the first floor. I had a room on the second floor by the elevator and the music on Thursday night kept my room vibrating until atleast 5am. They were happy to change my room location the following night, but I would avoid 2nd floor rooms especially by the elevator between Thursday and Saturday.

Lost its old charm
Pros:

The hotel is ideally located in town centre and is ideal for business travellers. Five years ago, I stayed in Mwanza for four months, and this hotel was one amongst the best. The old charm is gone, the hotel is under renovation, and trying to catch up with the competition. However the rooms are very comfortable, clean and comes with complementary wi-fi. The breakfast spread is not at all upto standards. However the hotel's restaurant, now temporarily operates from the makeshift facility on roof top, serves good Indian cuisine amongst others.
