Kritsa Gastronomy Hotel

Fantastic stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet but no lift. The restaurant served delicious meals for both dinner and breakfast. The area is quaint and full of character.

Charming older style hotel overlooking a delightful town square, with a very nice restaurant on the ground floor. However, access is only via a very narrow staircase which can be challenging if you have large luggage. Car parking is off-site but only a short walk away.

Un très bel accueil, puis on nous a offert de l'aide pour apporter nos bagages à la chambre. Une belle chambre très propre et bien équipée pour un séjour de quelques jours. Nous avons adoré l'atmosphère et très bien manger au restaurant de l'hôtel. Et nous avons été vraiment choyé, nous avons reçu un très bon petit déjeuner pour apporter car nous devions quitter très tôt le matin. Notre regret, c'est de na pas avoir pu prolonger notre séjour. Un coup de cœur pour le beau village Portaria, la vue sur Volos et les environs à découvrir. Encore merci pour tout.

Needing to catch an early ferry from Volos and not finding anything suitable in town, we decided to stay at Hotel Kritsa in Portaria having seen other good reviews online.

We were not disappointed! The hotel and restaurant are nestled on the main square in the centre of the village. Our room was comfortably furnished with a little balcony overlooking the square. We had a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and air-conditioning (a must when temperatures are in the late 30s)

The staff were really friendly especially Elein and we ate at the restaurant in the evening. Food was fantastic. With a very early start we didn’t get to sample the breakfast which everyone raves about however they kindly made up a pack-up for us.

Great value and a lovely hotel

Perfect for a night or two if you don’t want to stay in Volos or if you are exploring the Pelion. Lovely location; really comfortable room and great food in the restaurant. We had to leave early so missed breakfast but they made us a pack up which was delicious!

We stayed here for one night enroute from Thessaloniki to the Pelion.
A lovely traditional hotel …very clean with a comfortable bed but rooms are small. We had a room overlooking the square, this could be noisy but we were so tired after our early start that we slept through a music festival that was taking place in the square.
The staff are very friendly and immediately helped carry our bags up to our room.
The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in Greece …and this includes five star hotels in Athens.
We will definitely return and stay a couple of nights to explore the immediate area .

The hotel and area is beautiful and breakfast is wonderful!
There is no elevator, so climbing to the second floor with luggage is challenging. If this is an issue for you, ask for a room on the first floor when booking.

The breakfast buffet here is amazing with a wonderful selection.. We are gluten-free vegans, and we still had a large amount of choices. The staff was very polite and helpful. There is no elevator so if you have issues with narrow staircases, request ahead of time a room on the lower floor. All in all a pleasant stay.

Verry good accomodation, better every year, with oustanding breakfast.

All fresh, just cooked, exceptional taste. All homemade pies are tasty, sweets are very good, cofee of good quality.

We stayed one night in Portaria and enjoyed everything about Kritsia gastronomy Hotel.
The room was very clean and lovely, we had view to the villge square.
The food was incredible delecious, great wine selection and the staff was so lovely.
We had to leave very early for the ferry and they prepared for us a breakfast bag.
What a lovely and kind gesture and it was a very delicious breakfast.

I was obliged to cancel my trip to Greece because of the rocket bombing of Israel.Hotel management agreed to wave cancelation fees.I am very grateful for this.
Next time when situation will be better I will make an order again to this hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel and were extremely satisfied by the level of cleanliness of the room (especially with in terms of covid considerations) and by the warm hospitality of the owner. Despite the hotel restaurant not operating due to covid restrictions, the owner made sure we had warm and delicious food every day. The breakfast which was included in our room booking, left us feeling full and energised for the day, the highlight being the daily Greek traditional pies and variety of choice. Definitely recommend, and we will be going back for our summer holidays.

We have had a wonderfull stay at hotel Kritsa. They were very kind and helped us with a nice restaurant in Volos because in Portaria everything was closed due to covid. The room and bathroom were fine and breakfast in the morning was absolutely perfect! We could arrive and leave anytime we wanted and got a very kind homemade marmelade gift when we left. Would go there again 10/10!

Overall I am really happy about the hotel with this kind of Antique style, but the best and UNFORGETTABLE thing is the Greek Breakfast, I have never seen something similar, not even in a 5 stars hotel.

The Krista Hotel is right in the middle of the village square, as we were there out of season this was a pleasent location, not too noisy and parking whilst difficult was not impossible (on the Sunday we had to park 1/2 mile away). If it was mid summer goodness knows where you could park.
The room was a little small and old fashioned, there were no coffee tea making facilities, the view from the balcony was great.
On the positive side the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant (we ate there 3 nights) was excellent.

This is a really quaint hotel in the middle of the village of Portaria. It’s set back on a beautiful courtyard. The rooms are not large but more than adequate and very clean. We had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The breakfast is fantastic and the restaurant for dinner is the best in the area.

We stayed here 10 years ago.Then we enjoyed it so being in the area we stayed there again. And again wonderful friendly Breakfast Phenominal and had evening meal really nice...Both hotel and restaurant clean and warm.
