Luxury bottled up in a beautiful hotel experience in the middle of the cultural epicenter of Cartagena. The artistic design of the common spaces and rooms were stunning, and worth every penny. There was not one detail excluded from this experience and the service anticipated every need and want we had. We travel a lot and this hotel tops our list for the perfect mix of luxury and culture.

Shoutout to the amazing staff: Andrew, Jamie, Camarerce, Paola, Stefani, Katherine, Nelson, Tomas, Dagmor, Diocelin, Mileiolis, Lenin, Yanelis. I’m sure we’re missing some names but the staff was one team and everyone made our experience so special.

10 Star service!!!!! The concierge team Yanelis, Katherine, Paola and Andrew were Amazing. They made my friends and I feel like VIPs without fail.
They were accommodating of our endless requests for places to go, reservations, and pivoting plans as we learned that in Colombia 🇨🇴 you need to take your time and enjoy the moments in front of you.

Casa San Agustin is an absolute gem in Cartagena. Every detail of the hotel is thoughtful and intentional. It is beautifully maintained, and the architecture and historic aspects to the hotel itself are breathtaking. Our room was beautifully appointed, with lovely furnishings, comfortable beds, and Modern updates. The service at the hotel was second to none. Our concierge, Paola, took care of our every need, including dining reservations, city tour, and making sure we had just the right room for our family. We dined at the Alma restaurant, which was beautiful, delicious, and the waitstaff were some of the most wonderful we’ve ever encountered. They greeted us with warm, smiles and made us feel so special. They also attended to our every need and remembered our favorite things each day. Just cannot say enough about what an asset that they are to your organization. If we ever return to Cartagena, we will surely look no further than the Casa San Agustín! Thank you for making our stay so special!

Absolutely incredible stay. We were blown away by how beautiful every part of the hotel was, especially the pool and our room. The staff is so kind and attentive. We really didn’t want to leave!

his was our first time in Cartagena, and I am so glad we chose Casa San Agustín for our stay. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt special. We were checked in by Andrew and welcomed with beverages and cool towels, which made for a wonderful start to our stay. After check-in, we were given a tour of the property, informed of the available services and escorted to our room, where our bags were already waiting.

The hotel is beautiful and full of history and charm, yet everything feels modern, upscale and thoughtfully maintained. Its location in the Walled City was incredibly convenient for exploring shops, dining and nearby sights, but at the same time the hotel still felt peaceful and tucked away. With only 30-plus rooms, it felt intimate and personal — more like a private retreat than a traditional hotel. Our room was excellent, and the terrace was absolutely a standout feature that we really enjoyed.

Once we settled in, we took advantage of the spa and later had a fabulous dinner at Alma. Dining outside under the stars while listening to a lovely four-piece band made for a truly memorable evening, and it ended up being one of the best meals of our trip. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive. My wife even asked for something that was not on the menu, and the team was happy to accommodate her, which said a lot about their approach to service and hospitality.

Andrew and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The personalized service was exceptional and played a big part in making the experience so memorable. If we return to Cartagena, this would without question be the one and only place we would stay. Highly recommended.

Casa San Agustin is special. The room was beautiful, the pool was gorgeous — one of those spaces you don’t want to leave. But what sets this place apart is the design. Thoughtful, collected, unique. Not a hotel that feels designed — one that feels curated. The trees, the pottery, the details everywhere.

The service was exceptional across the board. A few people worth naming: Paola, Estefany, and Yanellis at the front made us feel taken care of from the moment we arrived — Yanellis in particular handled every reservation without a hitch. Orlando at breakfast was warm and attentive every morning. Amanda at the pool kept things flowing perfectly. And Jaime — our porter — was always there to help.

The food at Alma was exquisite. Breakfast alone is worth it — fresh fruits, fresh juices, great eggs, great avocado. Dinner outside with the live band was a chef’s kiss moment.

The hotel also arranged our trip to Acasi Beach — their beach, about 40 minutes by speedboat. Relaxing, beautiful, seamless.

If you’re going to Cartagena, stay here. And if we go back, we will.

Absolutely incredible. Most gorgeous boutique hotel right at the heart of the best of Cartagena. I felt like I was transported to another world. Beautiful architecture and design with raw stone and wood elements surrounded by thriving plants. Service was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel down to the smallest details. Should be 5 star and highly, highly recommend

I stayed here for a short week with my family. The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building in the historic part of Cartagena. We had 0 complaints. The staff at the hotel is likely the best part as they go above and beyond to satisfy all your needs, they were perfect. The room was very clean, very spacious and very clean, as you would expect in this type of hotel. The breakfast is à la carte which is not our favorite as we prefer buffets but again quality and selection were perfect. If we visit Cartagena again, for sure we will stay again at this 5 star boutique hotel. We also had dinner at the hotel testaurant Alma, and in the same spirit of excellence at the hotel Alma was very enjoyable.

A beautiful location with friendly helpful staff. Elegant interior with various public and private spots to relax. However, I felt they were disingenuous about restaurant reviews. They give their top 5 places (with glowing descriptions), but two of them are the hotel restaurant and at their sister hotel (!). They even have the exact same menu, and are not as good as the others available.
The breakfast (included) is delicious but takes a very long time to arrive. They need more cooks and/or a bigger kitchen. Eggs arrived cold, after half an hour waiting.
Lastly, I am used to tipping at the end of some cruises, but never before being asked at a luxury hotel. A tip of CAD300 was requested for a three night stay. Inapproriate in my view.
Management should address these issues wihich drag the facility down the facility from 5 to 3 stars.

Most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life, and I have traveled to a lot of places. I can’t say enough about the staff, the attention to detail, the service, the architecture, the FOOD. Estefany at the front desk took amazing care of us and they were there for anything we needed. I also had a lovely facial at the Aurem spa and incredible food at the Alma hotel on the property.

The hotel is built of basically three 17th century colonial mansions, so it has a super unique feel. They’ve preserved much of the original architecture and everything - I was honestly blown away by every detail. The pool is beautiful too. I went with a good friend of mine but it also seemed great for families, couples etc. love love love!!

The exquisitely beautiful Casa San Agustin was our home for three days in Cartagena. We have the personalized calling cards to prove it 😊. The outstanding ambience was exceeded by outstanding staff - indeed a true asset for this Hotel.
Dagmar personified concierge experience for us—from our gorgeous, unique room, to the special touches to help celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. She seemed to know everyone in the whole city and for her no request was too big or too small.
Breakfast and lunches were delicious and special shout out to Lizardo, Felix and the entire team. Special mentions also of Katherine and Stephanie at the front desk and Lenin who was always there to welcome us with a bottle of water after a walk in the sunshine. We will look forward to returning to our “home” in Cartagena.

It was wonderful! The staff is incredible, food, service, and accommodations too. Felt very taken care of and everyone was so warm & welcoming. Rooms were great, showers had incredible water pressure. Little touches like turn down service, welcome drinks, daily tea, all enjoyable. A few notable staff, Felix, Yanelis, Doris and honestly everyone we came across, so lovely and hospitable. Perfectly located to everything. Felt safe the entire time and easy to get around. Daily breakfast is wonderful too.

Casa San Augustin is a magical little oasis in the middle of the charming Old City of Cartagena. It’s a gem of a hotel with a very friendly and attentive staff, including Katherine, Andreij, Lennin and Stefani, who took care of us so well. Because of its great location we walked everywhere - to restaurants and shops, street fairs and cathedrals. We recommend Casa San Augustin to anyone needing an elegant and personal touch.
