Stay at SoloTe
Pros:

The best asset of the Hotel is its staff, always attempting to mitigate the mediocre conditions of the hotel. On the positive side the (i) the airport transfer timely and for free, (ii) the food in the restaurant quite good, (iii) hot water and clean bed sheets and (iv) the gym facilities. The hotel should invest a lot on (i) internet connection especially in the rooms; (ii) air conditioning of poor Chinese quality; (iii) tv connections; (iv) overall bath room conditions and (v) some form of pest control (insects).

Pros:

My daughter and I moved to the Solo Te from a nearby hotel that turned out to be very loud with poor quality food. We were not disappointed with our move! As other reviewers have said, the Solo Te is on a quieter side street, the rooms are quite nice, perfect for our longer stay of several weeks. The food in the restaurant is excellent and very reasonably priced. Even one of our Ethiopian friends remarked on how good the prices were, especially since the portions are huge! We've enjoyed all our interactions with the staff and the manager has gone out of his way to help with our reservation. I even had a great massage there (not expecting that!). I will definitely use Solo Te in my future trips to Ethiopia and I highly recommend it. Without being an out-of-range-5-star experience it manages to be economically reasonable, clean, comfortable, safe and pleasant---the heart of hospitality. Thanks, Solo Te!

Modern hotel with great transport connections
Pros:

The room, bed, hot water pressure, food and location on CMC road were great. Internet was good on ground floor in all common areas (restaurant, bar, lounges) but less strong in the room. Tastefully decorated, good service. For foreigners, the pizza is a hit!

Perfectly suitable for Business
Pros:

The Hotel location is perfect for my requirements for business in this area. The rooms are comfortable, linen and towels are fresh and bathrooms are clean. Staff very friendly and will go the extra mile to accommodate requests and are very helpful. I recommend Solo Te Hotel for business - this is my second stay here and I have just extended my stay for another week in this Hotel. They make great coffee, there is a gym, food is good, rooms are clean. I feel that I finally found a hotel in Addis Ababa that I will return to for future business travel without any hesitation and I can honestly recommend to business people who do business in this area.

ausgesprochen freundlich
Pros:

sehr freundliches Personal, immer bemüht. Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Umgebung des Hotels ziemlich uninteressant, keine Geschäfte, Cafés. Mit Taxi kommt man schnell überall hin. Würde aber jederzeit wieder hin.

Highly Recommend
Pros:

I have stayed at this hotel my last 3 trips to Addis and each experience has been better than the last. Very professional staff, great customer service. Love the food in the hotel restaurant. The mattresses are a little hard and the fact that it's about a 15min taxi ride to Bole are my only complaints. I must say first the price is very reasonable and the customer service is impeccable . Bravo Solo TE .

worst experience ever
Pros:

my stay was the worst between all of my stays in my life. It started with the problems of tv, hot water, water leakage in the presidential suit! And then they took me to the executive suit which had problems in tv, safe , and some insects in the living room and toilet. I asked for iron and they gave staneful iron which put dirt on my shirt. I dont recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros:

Excellent service, staff and rooms.
Internet service spotty and a bit slow sometimes, and lack
of access to internet at checkout meant my CC could not be used.

Addis Abeba in inverno
Pros:

Another good hotel possibility in Addis
Pros:

We stayed here for a couple nights and although our booking was mixed up some, we had a good stay. The staff made the difference. The restaurant food was very good. And, we had shuttle service to and from the airport which was a nice surprise, because friends from Addis were unfamiliar with this area. It really is not that far from the airport, just over 3 miles. We thought the beds were nice and firm and the neighborhood was quiet. The hotel seemed very secure too.
