Lovely hotel, very clean and quiet. Great breakfasts. Top class bed linen, very comfy mattress. Bathrooms newly refurbed. Plenty of car parking. Amazing host. Highly recommend this hotel, perfect for touring the local area. I would give it 10 out of 10
Old and smelly rooms.
Great location with some lovely walks nearby. Very helpful staff and we were fed well. The rooms were pretty basic and we did ask them to turn on the Hot Water earlier and to fix the taps which they did straight away. Could be managed a bit better
Mûkemmel bir tatil oldu, Hotel çok temiz ve konforluydu, kahvaltisi oldukça iyiydi,a Hotel sahibi çok ilgiliydi. Kahvalti dahil fiyati cok iyiydi. Herkese tavsiye ediyorum.
I enjoyed my brief stay at the Yannis Hotel, but it was surprising in a few ways, compared to some of the reviews I had read. First, while it should be your first choice if wanting to experience the nearby mud baths (which closed for the season on Oct. 15), it is out of town and not all that close to the Philippi archaeological site, which was the primary attraction for me (about 3km distant). In fact, the signage to find the hotel is limited, and could be troublesome if you are not familiar with the area. Even my GPS wasn't able to provide a precise location. Krinides may not offer many alternatives, but a stay in Kavala surely will, if you are going to drive to the site anyway.
The hotel itself was cozy, but the single bed was another surprise. Although I was alone, it still felt small, and overly firm.
Breakfast was still another surprise, but in a pleasant way. There was a large selection of breads, jams (incl. homemade), meats, cheeses, cereals, etc. Being a smallish hotel during non-peak tourist season, I was expecting less. But it was a great start for the day.
Very helpful stuff, great prices ,kitchen with local daily menu, across from the baths, no care needed, 20 minutes ride to the city of kavala, 5 minutes from the town of krinithes, in krinithes you can find anything you need.
What a perfect place to stay if you are in Kavala to experience the mud baths. A Clean and functiona hotel, the staff are exceptional, always on hand to help. An excellent breakfast too with bread from the local bakery, homemade nectarine jam and organic eggs.
We came as part of biking trip. Tge place is nice and food is ok but the rooms are small and very basic
The bath is in poor shape and beds are not comfy
The garden is nice. We ate dinner here and it was very dissapointed
Don't care less attitude

Stayed here two nights, the hotel is nice but short of love. no one at reception when we arrived, we later were helped with baggage ,came down for something to eat a few mins later he'd gone again. We helped ourselves to drinks, reappeared over an hour later and with reluctance made us a plain enjoyable meal.we booked a late breakfast and it was ok. We were told the restaurant was going to be closed that night, so we ate out then came back for a drink but all was locked up at 6.30pm. This was two days of our holiday and were very disappointed with the don't care less attitude and always complaining about being tired that we were pleased to leave.when the guy is there he's very nice, chatty and helpful, the hotel needs someone with some get up and go about them.everything to much trouble and constantly complains of being tired. It's a lovely building and guests deserves better
Appalling management. No-one was on reception to greet us on arrival. The advertised restaurant was closed. Beds were not re-made properly but merely thrown back top sheets. The air-conditioning didn't work. I have never stayed in any hotel where they are so reluctant to provide service for their guests. Do yourself a favour, book elsewhere.
We booked a room 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived at 6 PM the hotel was dark and closed, just several aggressive stray dogs. There was a sign on door to call but it was a wrong number. We finally managed to call someone connected to hotel who said they misplaced our booking and that we should go to another hotel, and please visit another time!! It was very dark and spooky. Perhaps it looks nice in the summer.
Stayed at Yannis for 5 days. When I checked in I was annoyed, as I was given a room below my expectations and reservation for a double bed.Soon I realised that I was given the proper attention and the second day I was moved to another much better room.It is a simple hotel, clean and hospitable. You can feel the willingness of all people to keep their guests happy. The food is good and fresh, nothing fancy, just big portions of good quality simple food at very reasonable prices. It is located in a park away from everything in a very green environment.Surely some renovations are necessary especially in the plumbing system fixtures and in furnishings and fixtures in general. When I checked out I was pleasantly surprised ,as I had a very late check out at 8:00 pm without any additional charges.
Visited for one night last year. Owner and staff were very polite.A small problem might be that they some of the staff doesnt speak english at all. Rooms are clean.
Food was not bad nor perfect but it was fine for the price. I would recommend it!
The rooms are clean, nice and spacious, the courtyard of the Hotel is large and tidy and the owner and the hotel's staff are really friendly. The breakfast is not included in the price but you can have some for 5 euros/room. The location is very convenient for excursions in the surrounding area. It is very quiet and you can enjoy a really deep sleep in the countryside. The price is reasonable.
We, eight people, spent two nights at the hotel. The hotel staff was really forthcoming and friendly. The food was good traditional greek food and we had a wine tasting arranged for us. It was a very nice stay.
We only intended for a day trip to Kavala from Toroni but decided to stay one night near Phillipoi so that we could see the Archaeological (must see) site which unfortunately for us had closed by the time we arrived. We stumbled across Yannis by coincidence being so close to the site and being well sign posted. The hotel is reasonably priced, clean and the room had the essentials e.g. T/V, wifi, fridge etc. The restaurant was closed but the hotelier was kind enough to order us a takeaway and provide us with a kettle for our English tea. Breakfast was included and there was sufficient choice. The hotelier was exceptionally friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. He was kind enough to show us the mud baths next door, which, just as our luck would have it were closed until the summer season. The hotel was in many respects far better than our 4 star spa hotel in Toroni so we would not hesitate to recommend it. We hope to visit again to enjoy the mud bath!
Nicely situated in calm surroundings just opposite to the mudbath outside Kavala. The welcome, service and advice was warm and of good quality. Prepared a good traditional greek family dinner and winetasting with local wines for us and adviced about trips and adventures in the surroundings. Always available. Good calm area with nice garden 15 Km from Kavala centre.
Nice place, between Kavala and Drama.Near by Philipi(archeological sites).Very friendly and helpfull staf.Very tasty and rich breakfast.Everyone who wants to see Drama and Kavala at once will make no mistake if he stay there. We stayed on December.I imagine how calmly and beautiful is in the summer.Big yard, free parking...everything is just excellent.
When I booked our 4 night stay at Yannis Resort Hotel in Kavala in Greece, I wasn’t sure what kind of hotel we are going to end up with, due to bad experiences from past hotel bookings elsewhere, but to our surprise, when we got to the hotel, the owners were so friendly right from the start they made us feel at home.
The rooms are great, service is 2nd to none, oh my God the food is something out of this world, once we dined in their restaurant, which is on the ground floor of the hotel, we never dined anywhere else, as their food was so lovely that even our kids enjoyed every meal over there.
Hotel is based next to a mud bath centre, the mud bath centre have their own doctor, so it is the best thing to have next to a hotel, just in case if you need a doctor, and best of all it is free of charge as well.
Hotel is well under 20km to the Kavala beach, but the hotel was so good and being in the country side it was so enjoyable that we didn’t go out much, other than once a day going to the beach for a swim and come back to the hotel for their excellent food, I would recommend anyone that going to Greece to try this hotel, you will have a experience of a life time for sure.
