I booked Canal hotel last minute to attend d a professional event nearby.
The room was small but convenient and the bathroom was awesome.
The bed however was not up to the expected level.
Felt a bit like a sofa bed of ikea. For this price range it should be a point of attention.

A única coisa boa nesta estadia é o atendimento dos funcionários.
O quarto na realidade não tem nada a ver com as fotos, são MUITAS escadas íngremes pra subir com as malas, e aí não tem nem sequer um telefone no quarto, então se vc precisa de algo tem q descer tudo de novo pra ir na recepção. Chuveiro péssimo, banheiro péssimo, não tem ar condicionado, tudo velho e mal cuidado. Horrível

Such a lovely quaint hotel within walking distance of many attractions and easy access to public transport! I stayed with my daughter and we were upgraded to a lovely spacious room overlooking the canal and had a complimentary bottle of cava in the room as we had celebrated our Birthdays the previous month and this trip was part of our Birthday Celebrations! Breakfast was lovely with a selection of continental items and cooked items on request. The Complimentary Happy Hour between 4-6pm was very well received and a super touch and gave us a nice chance to chill and regroup between daytime activities and the evening activities. All staff were so friendly and helpful.
Right next door to loud student accommodation! Not a great stay for the amount of money we paid. Room we were given seemed a lot smaller to photos but view of the canal was nice. Seems run down and old but the bathroom was lovely. Went into room, TV didn’t work and balcony doors would t open. Not sound proof so banging screaming and loud music until about 3am. When we told the receptionist she said students live next door so they just party - nothing they could do. They moved us room the next day which was good and the room was much nicer! Wish we had this one from the start as would have been better. Breakfast the morning was cereal, yogurt and a tray of one mini croissant each and a piece of fruit. No selection at all very disappointing.
It is in a reasonable location, about 25 minute walk to dam square and 12 minutes from Leidsplein square. 30 minute bus from the airport. I would stay here again but for half the price I initially paid.
We arrived early not expecting to be able to check in but our room was ready which was a great help. Staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them .
Great breakfast in the morning and the happy hour from 4-6 in the evening was a nice surprise.
We would definitely return when we come back to Amsterdam .

Excellent stay in the center of Amsterdam. We loved the room, the location, the service and the coffee area. Staff was caring and helpful at all times. Definitely a place to come back! Thanks to all :-)
Our stay was lovely, and the hotel exceeded our expectations: beautiful room and very nice view, quiet yet central location, excellent service and treatment from the staff and an (unexpected cozy) area for the happy hour. We will be back!
Nothing negative to point out - as in other comments, just bear in mind that this is a typical dutch building with no lift. For us, not a problem at all.
Ontbijt is goed en niet overdadig kortom genoeg.
