Hotel Blue Cove by On vacation

Do not let the pictures fool you. Do not stay here. Arrived to find the place crawling with hundreds of people throughout the property. Arrived early before check-in hoping to drop luggage. Told not possible By staff that, in a hotel that gets international visitors, spoke no English. Walked through property to have a look and found the place dirty, the breakfast buffet area was filthy, tables were not clean, food dropped all over the place. Nothing looked appetizing. Was able to get a cup of coffee and it was cold. I returned at 3:45pm for 4pm check and was made to wait until 4:20 in a line of everyone checking in at same time. They ONLY OFFER WIFI the lobby, NOT YOUR ROOM. This means everyone trying to use the same signal slows it down making it USELESS. The pool was overcrowded and extremely noisy, There will be no relaxing here as music is blaring over people yelling in the pool. Grounds are unkept with trash everywhere, room areas are full of broken construction debris. The place was total chaos. At $100USD per night it’s absolutely the worst property I have ever stayed anywhere in the world. AVOID IT. Management was useless in terms of rectifying my request for a refund and I was told to call Expedia to fight for my money back. Manager provided a website to file for a refund but no way to do so as there was NO WIFI. Place is a scam. Go elsewhere.

el peor hotel que he visitado en mi vida, execeso de humedad en las habitaciones, he viajado a muchos paises y destinos de Colombia y nunca me habia topado con una experiencia como esta, esperamos 2 horas para que nos dieran la cena de buffet la cual nosotros ya habiamos pagado con el servicio All inclusive y la gente estaba esperando como nosotros, no contaban con nuestra reserva por lo que nos cambiaron a unas habitaciones por otras menos costosas, las chapas no sirven, no nos dieron toallas, no habia luz en las habitaciones, no nos dieron control de TV y de aire acondicionado. NO LES RECOMIENDO QUEDARSE AQUÍ

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely humid. I have traveled to many countries and destinations in Colombia and have never encountered an experience like this. We waited two hours for our buffet dinner, which we had already paid for with the all-inclusive package, and other guests were waiting just as long. They didn't have our reservation, so they moved us to less expensive rooms. The locks didn't work, they didn't provide towels, there was no electricity in the rooms, and they didn't give us TV or air conditioning remotes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Dear Friend, If you ever have the misfortune as we did to end up in this hotel (blue cove San Andres Island Colombia) brace yourself for the most dreadful experience you had ever had in your life. Let me just bullet point the horrors associated with this place.
• We saw dead rats floating in the hotel’s pool
• The food awful, it had so much marine not purified salt I had to spit the soup back on to the cup the taste was unbearable.
• Leaks on the ceiling and uneven surfaces on the corridors made the rain water rush in to your room through windows and floors.
• No internet or wfi. TV set on the wall damaged, no phones available to call the reception desk, no night tables or lamps just and awful set of yellow lights on the ceiling.
• Very thin dry walls without isolation, we were able to hear people in the next room having sex and making these terrible sounds and cries for help, you only hear when a woman is being raped. We thought of calling the police, but there were no phones.
• Staff could not care less; it seemed as though this was a regular occurrence.
• Straight dogs hanging around the restaurant, waiting for someone to feed them. I am an animal lover this broke my heart into pieces. Of all the ugliness of this place this was the one thing that really did it for me. We packed up and left that night for another hotel on the island even though we had paid for 5 days convinced that it was a good deal by the false pretenses of the “ON VACATION” advertisement.
• This is the photo an employees for the second hour trying to fix the TV set, and the other mopping the floor after the rushing water damaged our luggage and clothes. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE “ON VACATION” THIEVES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Estimado amigo: Si alguna vez tiene la desgracia, como nosotros, de acabar en este hotel (Blue Cove, Isla San Andrés, Colombia), prepárese para la experiencia más espantosa de su vida. Permítame enumerar brevemente los horrores de este lugar:

• Vimos ratas muertas flotando en la piscina del hotel.

• La comida era horrible; tenía tanta sal marina sin purificar que tuve que escupir la sopa en la taza, el sabor era insoportable.

• Las goteras en el techo y las superficies irregulares de los pasillos hacían que el agua de lluvia entrara a la habitación por las ventanas y el suelo.

• No había internet ni wifi. El televisor de la pared estaba dañado, no había teléfonos para llamar a recepción, ni mesitas de noche ni lámparas, solo unas horribles luces amarillas en el techo.

• Las paredes eran muy delgadas , sin aislamiento. Podíamos oír a la gente de la habitación contigua teniendo sexo y emitiendo esos terribles sonidos y gritos de auxilio que solo se oyen cuando una mujer está siendo violada. Pensamos en llamar a la policía, pero no había teléfonos. Al personal le daba igual; parecía que era algo habitual.

Había perros callejeros merodeando por el restaurante, esperando que alguien les diera de comer. Soy amante de los animales y esto me rompió el corazón. De toda la fealdad del lugar, esto fue lo que realmente me hizo abandonarlo. Empacamos y nos fuimos esa misma noche a otro hotel de la isla, a pesar de haber pagado por 5 días, convencidos de que era una buena oferta por la publicidad engañosa de "DE VACACIONES".

Esta es la foto de un empleado que lleva dos horas intentando arreglar el televisor, y otro fregando el suelo después de que el agua dañara nuestro equipaje y comida. BAJO NINGUNA CIRCUNSTANCIA HAGAN NEGOCIOS CON ESTOS LADRONES DE "DE ON VACATION ". ESTÁN ADVERTIDOS.

Staff very helpful and patient

Not well maintained, rooms are sad and ours had a really strong smell of bleach, horrible. The staff tries, but still they don’t care that much. The facilities are nothing like the pictures, it’s old and not well kept. They gave us a second room, without a TV and NO WATER!

Great place but lacked a bit here and there. Overall not bad for the price.

No hot water in the shower, but they have a heated pool. The pool is the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms had flimsy doors that barely locked. They turn off the water every night. No WiFi. TV costs extra. And very far from all the good beaches. Stay away

La comida fue muy mala, totalmente repetitiva sin ningún tipo de variedad y con algunos funcionarios mal atendida.

Muy malas las habitaciones, descuidadas y sucias, el Aire acondicionado lo maneja gente de mantenimiento, no entregan control

The room we were given was horrible. It looked like an attic. It had leaks and what is advertised on the website is a beautiful room which we did not receive. The room we were given was on the far side of the hotel and we had to walk a great distance to gain access to the restaurant and entrance of hotel. There are some nice looking rooms in the front of the hotel but I felt I was cheated out of a good room simply because the hotel decided to built cheap lodging towards the back end of the hotel to accomodate more guests. Everythhing is far from the hotel. No beach and the cab rides to the center are costly. We were given the same towels for our duration of our stay and no trash cans in the bathrooms. The door didnt lock properly either. What is show on the ads is not what we received. I felt cheated out completely out of my money. The open bar is a joke. Weak beer and cocktails with syrup tasting flavors. This place should be shut down.

Not what I expected.

The hotel was very far away from de beach and the installations weren’t very good, the food wasn’t good, the pool was ugly and some rooms doesn’t have ventilation and windows and you can’t manage the air-conditioner like you want because you don’t have the remote control.

El hotel en términos generales está bien, la atención es buena pero les falta limpieza ya que en las piscinas pequeñas encontramos un ratón muerto que se notaba que ya llevaba ahí varios días, esto hizo que no volviéramos a usar este servicio de piscina, nosotros sacamos el ratón de la piscina y le informamos al pie uñero quien lo botó a la basura, pero no sabemos si las cerró h las limpio ya que esos animales tienen muchas enfermedades
