Perfect for the Cottonwood Canyon skier or summer visitor.
Pros:

Great place to stay if you are heading into the Conntonwood Canyons for skiing or fun summer activities. A straight shot to your destination but still convenient to Salt Lake City and also to Park City. Lots of walkable dining options - ski shop next door and another one a half mile away to meet your ski season needs.

We have a group of 5-10 skiers who have been coming for years - we will be back again next year.

Nice ski hotel
Pros:

Very nice hotel for my ski trip, close to major resort. Commute is incredible easy and convenient. Can reach any place within 20 minutes. Solitude snowbird in 20 minutes is absolutely effortless.

Horrible Water Problem
Pros:

The hotel itself is fine, average. The issue is the water. This hotel has extemely hard water. I stayed for only three nights, washing my hair only twice. I immediately realized something was wrong as there was serious hard build up in my hair. Since then, I have been unable to get it out, days after my experience here. There is a serious neglect for clean water or water filtration systems here. I will not be returning.

Great location, good value, fairly clean, street noise, didn't use the amenities, Beds were old and lumpy . Breakfast could be expanded

Amazing Staff and Breakfast.
Pros:

Fantastic breakfast! Amazing Staff. Very clean. Relatively new facility. We stayed in the larger room that had a small kitchen and table. However, the room worked very well on a ski trip with my son. The Staff made the trip!!

My advanced request of room location was granted upon arrival, though downsized from a king to two queen beds. Breakfast is adequate. There are multiple choices. But I am always disappointed when there aren't muffins.

Disappointing Stay – Below the Usual Hyatt Standards
Pros:

I’ve stayed at many Hyatt-branded hotels over the years and have always appreciated the consistent level of professionalism and service. Unfortunately, my experience at the Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Cottonwood didn’t meet those expectations. The property felt noticeably less organized and the team seemed under-trained compared to what I’m used to from Hyatt. Management oversight and staff responsiveness could both use improvement. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but it was definitely below the standard I’ve come to expect from the Hyatt brand.

Great weekend stay for running the marathon
Pros:

I was there for running the REVEL Marathon on 09/13/25. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-equipped. It was comfy. The neighborhood is nice. Ready-to-go breakfasts for us runners on the race day were awesome. Thanks. Definitely recommended.

Pros:

This was the best stay I’ve had for years! I picked it for convenience and quality of property… but the STAFF WAS AMAZING! Both the day and evening shifts. I felt like the problem child, asking to change rooms, adding on my stay then changing my mind to my original plans and cancelling the add on. They were so kind and never made me feel like I was unconvincing them. They went out of their way to accommodate. I will definitely stay at Cottonwood Hyatt again when I’m in town!
