The location is good and within walking distance of the places we wanted to visit
The room was small the decor faded and furniture old. No kettle or facility to make a drink in the room. The staff weren't particularly helpful. Scaffolding was erected on our second day which affected our view, there was no warning of this from the staff.
The stairs are extremely steep. We are reasonably fit so could manage. We witnessed other guests not being able to take their suitcases up to their bedroom.
The hotel was in an excellent location to explore Amsterdam with easy access to the centrum. We arrived by bicycle and parking was easy as locked them on a metal post / cycle rack. We had a room overlooking the canals so was excellent to people watch. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. There was free coffee/ hot drinks and cakes but canned drinks you had to pay for. The bed was comfy and lovely bathroom. The hotel warned us about the stairs which were steep but both of us are fit so were not a problem.

Stairs but I knew that going in
The room was in such a good location, by the canal and we loved the furniture. We loved the big windows and Juliet balcony in our room too.
The room was an unusual shape which meant it was a bit difficult to sit in the chairs by the window. The overall price for the room and hotel was expensive. We did book a peak time during the Pride carnival so we tolerated the cost.
The hotel was in a perfect location. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to visit. The hotel lobby and breakfast areas were nice. The rooms were a bit dated and stuffy. Not much air flow.
The rooms could use a refresh.
