JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during our visit to Bengaluru. The reason we chose this hotel was the JW Marriott brand which is expected to offer a high level of luxury and reward night availability through our Marriott Bonvoy program. Due to the brand we had very high expectations. 

Our stay was mostly ok. The reception staff were courteous and friendly, aiming to offer the best service that they can. 

They welcomed us holding doors and there was no wait at the reception at all. Before arrival, we checked if an early check in around 7 a.m. would be possible when they emailed us to ask if we have any requests and confirmed that it should be possible to offer a room even though the room type cannot be guaranteed. During the check in, this detail was initially missed and we were asked to pay an extra night of stay cost. When we declined and offered to stay in the lobby until our room became available without a cost difference, they confirmed the prior communication from the system and offered the room which was greatly appreciated, considering the overnight flight that we had. 

The room was full of nice amenities. Lots of high quality creams and shower products, shaving kits and amenity kits. Towels were also top quality with a super soft feel. The fridge was also stocked with a good selection of drinks. We had a wonderful view of the park from the 10th floor and the automated curtains were very luxurious to use. However, this magical setup fell short of the quality we expect, when we opened the bed duvet and noticed some hard to identify black spots on the bedding. I felt uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the bedding so much so that I used a body towel as a second level of bedding. This should have never happened at a JW Marriott in my opinion.

The executive lounge was super nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There could be a few more nibbles when they are not serving food since we never managed to get to the lounge at serving hours. 

We also had a chance to visit the gym and the facilities around the pool area. They were quite impressive with a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and lots of exercise machines. It looked so professional that even a professional sports person wouldn't mind using it. 

The worst of the experiences happened when we were sleeping. We went to bed at 10 pm and at 11, there was a constant scrubbing sound coming from the locked connecting room next door. The sound was very loud and lasted more than 50 minutes even though we knocked the door to make it stop and called the reception later. They apologized, explaining that there was maintenance and they stopped immediately after our call (which wasn't true as it lasted another 15-20 minutes). For a 5* luxury hotel like this, they shouldn't even consider a maintenance repair at 11 pm and this ruined our sleep.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to have breakfast due to our early flight. For this reason, we cannot comment on the dining quality.

All in all, the luxury is there. However, the hotel is showing signs of aging and the staff needs to plan the maintenance to non-disruptive hours. We had higher expectations from the service due to the brand and even though all the good intentions were there, I had much better stays in mid-tier hotels.

Room service, atmosphere cleaning, cute decor on the bed everything was awesome. Amritesh and damtii did a very good job, polite and kind people.

JW Bangalore continues to be a great service experience. Breakfast is remarkable and the per-floor housekeeping representative (Mahesh for me) is very responsive.

The ambience, food and the service was excellent. Our service provider Mr. Ravindra was very polite.

Ripan did a wonderful job cleaning my room. He kept things very tidy and welcoming. I would highly recommend!

Service and quality were excellent. Rooms were clean and I always looked forward to what type of live flower design I would have on my bed when I returned for the evening. Food is great and can’t ask for better service from the folks outside when I departed and returned at the end of the day.

Went for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary. Since we were travelling with kid and infant, informed them over email and got the confirmation. But, they ruined our special day.

Last year also, we booked one night staycation to celebrate our Anniversary. I had some queries, so emailed them. But no response. Called them, but the receiver lady was rude, did not have basic courtesy. Because of their dont care attitude, at last minute we cancelled the booking. Only after online review, they responded at very last minute. But, it was too late and the response was very very cold.

Anyway, this year, we thought of give it a second try. Since its JW Marriot brand, we thought, this year all will be good only. But, I was wrong. They never called or email me to know whether I have any special request. It is sad they dont know what is Personalisation and Customisation means, let alone guest delight. We felt unwanted and we have never faced such an unwelcoming environment in any Hotel. How can you do that after knowing that the guests already faced service issue previously?? My request to JW Marriot Bengaluru team, please dont do such things with any of your guest.

Coming to the food, it was horrible.
- Very limited menu and most of the items were actually cold.
- Starters were not fresh and chicken was like rubber. In chicken malai tikka, not only chicken was cold, the malai was freezing cold.
- Only cucumber and lettuce were there in salad section.
- How can you serve cold biriyani?? We actually could not eat any of the dishes properly. Nothing was in live counter. In fact, the chimney over the live counter was malfunctioning, so the burning smell was spreading all over.
- Ordered butter naan, but they delivered butter tandoori roti. When I asked, they kept arguing that this is the butter naan. I had chat with the chef and he agreed the cold food issue.

Sad part is that, in the confirmation email, many Senior People were there in email loop, most of them in Director position, still this happened. Due to bad dinner experience, I called one of their director who was there in that email loop, and I understood they completely forgot about our booking. In fact, she did not bother to wish me or my wife.

Only positive was the restaurant staff. They were super helpful. They tried their best to provide us a comfortable dining experience. However, due to bad dining experience, they did not charge us for dinner. But, our special day was already spoiled by that time. It was a good gesture, but it was too late.

Avoid this hotel at any cost. Never ever plan to celebrate your special day here. What I felt, they do not care about “normal guest”. May be they are only concerned about “VIP Guests”.

Comfortable room, attentive staff, and exceptional housekeeping (thank you Tapas). Nishant, Sukhpai, and Priya at the Executive lounge made our evenings bearable after such long working hours. I highly recommend this hotel to the hard working traveler.

Very tasty food and kudos to Kavinder for the service and the hospitality. It was a memorable bday celebration and everything went perfect. Thank you Kavinder.

Had a lovely stay. The rooms are great and the staff is especially helpful and kind. Amritesh especially took great care of room and made sure everything was well taken care off. Big shout out and special thanks!

My stay was great. Cleaning service was excellent and always on time. Ameritesh did a great job taking care of my room.

This hotel is clearly high quality and the rooms are excellently appointed , I have no complaints about the hotel or its staff. I guess my major issue is with the management of this hotel - they clearly do not care about the people staying in their hotel!

Do not visit on Valentines weekend or , I guess any holiday weekend.

Unfortunately, I am on a business trip that coincides with Valentines Day. Unable to book dinner in the hotel in which I am staying - they were gracious enough to find me a barstool when I enquired. Made to feel uncomfortable by the pool and the lobby bar because they are hosting a big Valentines event rushed to settle bill rather than relaxing by the pool - anxious to set up for the evening…and I’ve been warned to forget lunchtime tomorrow too! What’s the point? I guess it’s room service for this weekend!? Room 604 until Wednesday night if management are interested.
