Great hotel for a night’s stop, with fabulous location in the heart of the town.
Pros:

Lovely staff on reception, always very helpful. There is no dining room, but we were given a sheet of suggestions for places to eat. Comfortable room, with amazing view across to several glaciers. Room was very hot due to full sun all day, but there was a big fan which we left on all night, and it cooled down as the sun moved round.

Cons:

No lift to upper floor, but there are rooms on ground floor if this is a problem. Bathroom is very small.

Great location, but overpriced and let down by noise, poor sleep quality, and a lack of communication about the building

Great location in Höfn, within easy walking distance of restaurants and the harbour.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our stay didn’t meet expectations, especially considering the high price we paid for just one night.

When we arrived, the hotel itself was undergoing building works. The drilling and construction noise were so severe that the entire room was vibrating. While we appreciate that maintenance has to take place during the day, we believe guests should be informed before arrival, particularly when the disruption is this significant. We expected to be able to relax from the moment we checked in, but instead were told we would simply have to wait until the work finished later that evening. That was very disappointing.

The room was also uncomfortably hot. There is no air conditioning, and the windows do not stay open properly, despite it only being around 10°C outside.

As we visited during the midnight sun season, blackout curtains would have made a huge difference. The curtains were very thin, so the room remained bright throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep without an eye mask.

Finally, the walls are extremely thin, and we could clearly hear conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms.

Overall, for the amount we paid, we expected a much more comfortable and relaxing stay. While the location is excellent, the combination of the building works, poor sleep quality and lack of communication left us feeling very disappointed.

Nice hotel in a decent location.
Pros:

This is a hotel of the same "chain" as the one in Myvatn. Did not equal that stay, but it was comfortable, clean, and the staff were friendly.
