The hotel was wonderful it had I nice pool and the room was big and comfortable, the bed was a little firm but we knew this going in. Walking distance to a lot of sites and the night market. There are bars very close to the hotel. The buffet breakfast was very good except for the last day they failed on that one.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in two rooms. Besides the fact that the breakfast was poor and the photos made the hotel look much better than it actually is, on the second night I unplugged our adapter and received an electric shock!!! It was extremely painful and very, very frightening. Immediately afterward I felt a very strange sensation in my hand — it felt stiff and numb.
Based on what we read online, we understood that I needed to be checked immediately, as there could be internal damage not visible from the outside. I was taken by ambulance to a local hospital together with my husband, while our children remained asleep in their room (based on the staff’s reaction, they apparently felt it was a big deal on their part to call an ambulance). I underwent several tests and, fortunately, everything was fine. I was hospitalized overnight for observation and discharged with instructions to take two strong types of medication that cause weakness and dizziness, and cannot be taken with alcohol. As a result, I could not climb the Sticky Waterfall or enjoy wine with my meals — all of which the hotel staff is unaware of because they never bothered to ask.
The next morning, before I returned, the hotel had an electrician check, and everything — including our adapter — was found to be in order. We expected the hotel manager to check in on me and perhaps make some gesture of goodwill to leave us with a positive feeling and convey that they care — but nothing!!! They did not ask how I was feeling, nor did they offer any compensation. Their response made me feel as if, since thankfully there was no significant permanent damage, it was meaningless and everything was “fine.” It most definitely was not. In short — terrible service
Good
A lovely more authentic hotel. The room was very thailand modeled, so very quaint. The pool was the best pool out of 3 other chiang mai places we have stayed at. The service was great the staff were attentive and helpful. Front staff even loaned us Thai Baht for a taxi.
This was my wife that stayed, we have used this hotel many times and it’s always good and location is perfect. The pool is fantastic and rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is okay and has various options.
Spent 13 nights in this hotel, centrally located within the old town.
Pleasant room with balcony that got the sun in the morning, a good choice in the restaurant and pool with a few beds around which only caught the sun for part of the day.
One thing to note is that there is a nightclub not too far away that belts out music till 2:00 am and despite being double glazed the noise was disruptive…however this will apply to all the central hotels!
Overall an excellent stay.
The room is huge and everything we needed is supply by the hotel. I love to go back and recommend @chaing Mai hotel to everyone whose looking for a hotel in Thailand.
Great breakfast, close to many great temples.
Good location near Lana Square with lots of food stalls and entertainment. Noise travels from this area until early hours if this bothers you. Lovely traditional decor in rooms and nice pool area however there was a lack of service for drinks and bell given did not work. The oriental gardens were lovely. I wish I could replicate this at home with your beautiful plants! A great selection of food at breakfast.
Flooded out of my house for 5 days here in CM. Great choice I made to stay here. Check in great, room was huge, good price, breakfast buffet OK. Great location. I would stay again
Stayed for 3 nights after being a victim of the CM floods. Great location for me, and tourists, with service wonderful, room excellent and morning buffet good.
Really great location, the staff was helpful and the breakfast buffet was great.
Beautiful hotel - wonderful staff. Everyone is helpful and welcoming. Cute little restaurant downstairs in case you don’t feel like going out but wonderful restaurant steps away as well. This was our second time here in 2 years and looking forward to coming back!
Staff was extremely accommodating. The hotel restaurant was convenient, the food was good and reasonably priced. The hotel was an excellent value.
Very nice hotel in the old city of Chiang Mai. Very friendly staff, nice rooms with good size bathroom. Many attractions in the centre within walking distance. After a few days breakfast becomes a little boring. Value for money We had some issue on the first night with a bad smell in the bathroom but this was quickly resolved by moving us to another room. Well done. Great customer service.
In the middle of the Old Town, this is a great hotel. Staff could not do enough for us. Our room was not massive but more than adequate; furnishings quite traditional and heavy, dark wood but the fridge and complimentary water was very welcome. Toiletries were provided and the walk in shower, whilst not the most powerful, was good. As a small criticism, I’d say the bathrooms could be up dated but it’s fine, and functional.
Breakfast buffet was superb: Thai food, Scrambled or fried eggs, toasters and the most amazing fresh fruit.
Easy to walk anywhere with temples, restaurants and bars all close by.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The AT Chiang Mai.
calming
Nice property, pool is nice and the staff were wonderful. Breakfast options were nice and the location is great.
Awesome staff and very friendly
Perfectly located in Old Town. Lots going on but the hotel itself is situated in set back from the main noise so is quiet. Perfectly clean with sheets and towels changed daily. Good breakfast. Staff always happy to help. Couldn’t fault this hotel. Some people say pool is cold. I say it’s refreshing.
