It was right on the beach. The staff is very friendly.
Could use some upgrades. For the price I would expect the water pressure to be better, doors to close fully, better TV options (such as streaming capabilities). No outside shower to rinse off from the beach. The pool was not clean.
The location is impeccable! To sit on the sea wall and have a drink or a meal is heaven. The kids love the pool for a beach break. Water pressure is great.
The room smelled like mildew. Carpet seaside is a poor choice. Towels were few and far between.
We highly anticipated this stay and after spending $518 for one night, we realized we payed for the view. Being able to open the sliding glass door next to the bed and smell the ocean and hear the waves throughout the night and upon waking up was beautiful.
Our stay at Pleasant View Inn was unfortunately very disappointing.
When we entered the room, we immediately noticed how basic it was. There wasn't even a microwave or coffee maker, and the television looked like it hadn't been updated in decades. The biggest issue, however, was the cleanliness. The floor was covered in sand before we had even unpacked, despite us arriving with clean shoes. We ended up wiping our feet on a wet towel throughout our stay because the floor was so dirty.
As we settled in, we found more signs that the room hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. When I moved a lamp on the end table, there were old coffee stains underneath that had clearly been there for quite some time. The bottoms of the curtains were filthy and looked like they hadn't been washed or replaced in a very long time.
There were also maintenance issues. The sliding glass door was broken, and the screen wouldn't close completely. The toilet clogged the first time we used it and wouldn't flush for the rest of the night. Rather than walk across the property carrying a plunger, we simply left it closed and waited until we checked out the next morning.
The following morning, I went to the front desk hoping they had complimentary toothpaste since we had forgotten ours. They didn't have any available, and the small convenience store was sold out. I ended up paying $5 for two small swigs of Scope mouthwash just so we could mix it with water and brush our teeth.
The biggest disappointment was the food. I was excited to enjoy fresh seafood while visiting Westerly because I'd had an incredible meal at a local seafood shack on a previous trip. Instead, I ordered the $30 scallop dinner with fries from The Hatch at the hotel. It was honestly one of the worst seafood meals I've ever had. The scallops were bland, chewy, and tasted anything but fresh. They had no sweetness or flavor and seemed heavily preserved and overcooked.
Great location walking distance from
Food spots and stores.
I liked the property except that on the last day, i found a roach on the table and killed it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Pleasant View.
The hotel offers two complimentary parking lots with plenty of spaces, which made parking very convenient. Before arriving, I contacted the hotel regarding a restaurant reservation, and the front desk staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. My favorite was Marquis (I’m not sure of the spelling), who assisted me throughout my stay and provided outstanding service.
The hotel’s location is excellent. It’s within walking distance of restaurants and shops, making it easy to explore the area.
I booked an Ocean View Balcony room. Although the room was on the smaller side, it was newly renovated, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. I especially loved sitting on the balcony, listening to the ocean breeze and enjoying the peaceful view. The hotel is located right on the beach, so you’re just steps away from the ocean.
The outdoor seating area and restaurant offer breathtaking 180-degree ocean views. One of the main reasons I chose Pleasant View was its swimming pool, in addition to its excellent location and beautiful rooms. Although the pool is on the street side of the property, it is large, well-maintained, and surrounded by comfortable seating. We had a wonderful time relaxing there.
I had dinner at the hotel one evening, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Another night, we dined at Andrea Restaurant, which has beautiful ocean views and excellent food. My lobster was absolutely amazing.
Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would be delighted to return to Pleasant View in the future. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway.
Another wonderful stay on the RI shoreline! Greeted at the front desk with welcoming smiles from Krista & Susan. Our delicious dinner was prepared by Chef Lenny. A big thank you to Joe and Ashley for making our trip so very special.
Conveniently located and beach access
The air conditioning sounds like an air compressor probably because the filters need to be cleaned they were so dusty.
We have been going to the Pleasant View for summer vacation the last 10 years plus and we always have a great time. It great to see Susan and Krista at check in. They are always friendly and professional and they make sure all are accommodations are exactly what we requested. We always bring way to much baggage but no issues with Rinor’s help he brought everything to our room. We had excellent service at the restaurant from Sydney and Haley and Alana and Danielle always knew what refreshment to offer from the bar after a day on the beach . Also don’t let me forget Dalton we had a few small issues in our room that he remedied immediately and Cathy at the front desk was always helpful in the evening with every request we made. Lastly just want to express my gratitude to Joe, Ashley and Lenny. They are always available and take the time to say hello and make sure our stay at the Pleasant View is 5 Star.
The view and convenience
The price- it’s too high. C’mon, $600 for one night? The room had a bed, bathroom tv and fridge. For $600? I probably won’t be back
We LOVED that it was right on the beach, and also there was a bar/restaurant that was really good!!!!!!!!
Our room and balcony were a bit small, will book a bigger room next trip.
Listening to the waves crashing along the shore! Oh, and a plethora of very comfy pillows!
Difficulty making dinner reservations and when I finally did the reservations weren’t available for dinner at 7pm. Bummer!
It was beautiful and comfortable.
Coffee went quick in the morning.
Everything
Nothing
We had a great time at the Pleasant View! The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. We enjoyed playing bingo and eating in the restaurant. The food is very good. Lenny is doing a wonderful job managing the food! And Krista is amazing too! She is so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely go back in the future.
